Perhaps a more seasoned user of this site has some input.

I was browsing through various female profiles and there seems to be a lot of ones with a one line description. The photo looks blurry/low res. almost as if it was a scan or screen capture. None of the interests are filled out and the "who I want to meet" has every type of person listed.

Are these fake (spam harvesters etc)? Or am I being overly skeptical?

I have no doubt that some are just on here to collect email addresses. An interesting experiment would be to create an email address with yahoo or hotmail just to see if including it would generate spam.

If it does generate spam, you can have some fun with them if they are not careful or have automated their spam system. Start sending emails to that account with some interesting addresses, like bush (at) whitehouse.gov, rice (at) whitehouse.gov, admin (at) whitehouse.gov, support (at) nsa.gov and the like. It might just lead to that spammer being shut down.

(Edited to correct formatting - it looks like some antispam measures like not allowing email addresses to be simply posted in the forums are in place. Kudos to the staff at collarme for taking those steps.)

Theres a UK (London/Midlands) 'Mistress' on here who befriends you, says shes moving to Paris, & wants you to have her sub, she tries to add you to msn, but I smelt something odd (usually the oddness being its the slave acting as a 'Mistress' to get some action) so I didnt add her to msn, I got her to send the pic via an account that didnt have msn, she sent a virus, which my computer picked up straight away.

if anybody wants the name of this 'mistress', please memo me.

I think our "2 week Chirstmas Vacation Visitor" was a fake profile. The more I thought of it.. no woman would have written it. The bragging that she slept with the right guy to get her posiiton is not someting a woman would disclose. Women are more subtle in their credentials. She identified herself as a guy would- way too much bravado. "I'm a prostitute and a slut and etc" all words of male fantasy. I just didnt' buy it. All she left out was "Sucky-f*ky 5 dollar.. me love you long time" Funny how she no longer has a profile online. When ya gonna learn.. a guy knows how to push another guy's buttons.

I am going to fuel your cynicism and say, most likely... yes. I already ran into a profile using a picture of a good friend of mine in real life, he/she/it stole her pictures from her myspace page. What the motivation was is beyond me, but they are definitely prevalent here it seems...

All but one of my pics are taken with my web cam. The quality isn't that good.. but good enough for a profile pic :) There are folks on here that can verify it's "me".

Lotus, did you see that there is a moving coming out titled, Running with scissors?
I just caught the tail end of the trailer. Waiting for it to come back on TV again, to see it.
