Can you name the Senators and who voted against the Iraq War? Did yours?

For the answer click here: http://senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=107&session=2&vote=00237

The House list and a re-cap on the Senate is here in narrative form: http://usliberals.about.com/od/liberalleadership/a/IraqNayVote.htm

btw - I agree with your plan. If you have one issue you feel strong about that sways your vote, use it to vote them out! My "vote out" vote is on the immigration issue. If a candidate that I can vote for is anti-immigration but for a pull out of Iraq I'm still voting for the anti-immigration candidate. Here's the question for you. If the person was for pulling out but for complete internet censorship could you still vote for him? (assuming internet censorship is a hot button issue for you) But fill in the blank for whatever your 2nd prioritized hot button. Frankly, that's how I ended up voting for Bush the 2nd time. I didn't like much of what he represented, but I didn't like anything that Kerry represented.

If enough of us prioritize our focus maybe we take collectively make our votes count again. My position is that all votes come down to yes/no statements. You either agree or disagree with the historical record or proposed path and say yes/no by voting.

That would require our lazy fellow citizens to read the voting record of incumbants...smiles... I do believe there are many congress people that are going to be looking for work after the next election cycle on both side of the aisle. I think Iraq and oil prices will make the American people demand their pound of flesh

Lieberman is a symbol of everything that's wrong with the spineless Democratic Party. He'd see a Republican get elected rather than drop out of the race. Yes, iraq is issue #1. That's why I couldn't in good conscience vote for Kerry--he insisted on staying in Iraq. ONE  Senator voted against the PATRIOT ACT. Total police state. Single Payer Medical? People need it, senators wimp out. That's a close second. i call for action direct. "Given the choice between a real Republican and a (Democratic) Republican, the people will vote for the real Replublican every time" Harry Truman. Let conservative, corporate owned democrats know they don;'t have your support.

Archer -> RE: Lieberman (8/10/2006 12:44:32 PM)

Obviously you have not a clue about what the polls in CT have been saying since the idea that Liberman might have to run as an Independant first hit the press.

In CT the polls put Liberman as the winner on a 3 way race, the republican running against them is a joke polling at an expected 13% of the vote, even in a three way race with Liberman as an Independant.

10% of eligable voters bothered with the primary so hardly a mandate of the people folks.

It was a democratic primary and 50% of registered democrats came out for an August primary to vote on the issue.  Considering normal voting primaries I'd say thats a strong signal that Connecticut democrats don't want him in the family anymore.  And obviously since he's switched parties, he never really wanted to be a part of it either.
