Level -> Howard Dean's 50 state plan (8/9/2006 6:09:20 PM)

*from US News and World Report*

The Democratic chair plans to fight in every one of the 50 states. Is this shrewd strategy or a recipe for disaster?

Now, I'm a Democrat.. but everytime I see Dean.., I cringe.  he is NOT the best person to respresent ANYBODY.  Just too loony for my tastes.  I mean.. what the hell are we THINKIN'!!!????  (asking our Democratic Party)

Oh they'll love him in South Carolina!

I'm already sick of the election crap and it's still more than two years away.

I wish John Edwards would run again.. it'd be nice to have a pretty president :)

No need, George W. Bush is the Democrats best friend, Just stay home Howard and watch him sink the Republicans for you..

Daddy4UdderSlut -> RE: Howard Dean's 50 state plan (8/9/2006 8:00:03 PM)

Well, Dean is nothing if not bold.  As a candidate, he was too far from center to get elected.  As party chair though, he doesn't need to get elected (Republican party chairs aren't often very centrist either).

I will say that it seems counterintuitive, that he may wind up spreading the resources too thin, and wasting too much on states that are simply lost causes, and winding up also losing some states that could have been wins.  It looks like we may find out ;-).

P.S. Even if he does want to "Fight In All 50 States"... that doesn't mean he proposes to use equal party resources in all 50 states.

Lotus, Edwards is in North Carolina and he's just another lawyer.
P.S. if you want a "pretty President" how about Ann Coulter?

CrappyDom -> RE: Howard Dean's 50 state plan (8/9/2006 11:25:36 PM)

As someone who has worked local and national elections, Dean is the exact person to run the DNC, if he actually bad for the Dems, FOX would be saying nice things about him...

The DNC has vacuumed up all the money out of the states for decades and hasn't spent the money needed to build strong state parties and Dean is changing that.  He may not be able to control his mouth but he does have his finger on the pulse of the party.

Want to know something you wont hear on Fox?  Dean has been fantastically successful in raising money, far outstripping any previous DNC head.  The problem is that it isn't corporate money, is it vast amounts of small donations from regular Americans and this scares the shit out of Republicans and some Democrats.

Dean is a smart guy, he isn't going to take the money and divide by 50.  He is going to make sure that Republicans have a fight on their hands and that is fine by me.

Oh, and I didn't support or work for Dean, I worked for Clark.

"another lawyer".. if you think about it.. ALL of them are,  I mean.. it's where the laws are MADE.  I'd hope someone had a grasp on the existing laws:)

No one likes a lawyer until they need one.  And I sure as hell don't want another Texan!

It'sthe "controlling his mouth" part that makes me cringe.  He was very enthusiastic with his speech during the last presidential election.  The republicans just jumped on it and made fun of it.  BTW ever notice the republicans don't really address an issue.. they make fun of the other side instead? "John Kerry  looks like Herman Munster!".. yeah and Bush looks like any number of inbred pig-eyed bastards.  Reminds me of a bunch of 7th grade boys!

Hey now ... don't mess with Texas.[;)]

Howard Dean is the whip. His purpose is to rabble-rouse and stir up the far left to drum up money and campaign volunteers for who will eventually be the nominee.

He will say outlandish things, insult the President, and eventually serve the very useful purpose of trashing anyone the Republicans throw into the arena with every lie and insinuation at his disposal.

Consider him the Democrat's version of the Swift Boat Boys.[;)]

Dean has been extremely successful raising money and organizing via the internet......http://www.democracyforamerica.com

To the Republicans Howard Dean is "The gift that just keeps on giving."
Lotus, look at all the laws that we have now that are not being enforced.
For example our Immigration Laws.

I know you're not talking about this website.... I can name a large number of people who resort to ridicule of Bush, far more than any who have made fun of Kerry. Really, the number of people who can stick to a factual argument, devoid of goofy comments, on either side, is pretty low. Even I have trouble doing it at times.
