ORIGINAL: MHOO314 Ok here you go---its called crate training, (this is a quick response so if someone has said this--sorry)---don't get one so large that he can poop and still have a place to lay down--and NO dog beds in there yet---plan to take him out on schedule 4 times a day, the same schedule---if he needs more he will let you know. Stay on schedule, at least two of those right after he eats. Get chew toys, it sounds like his breed is a chewer--and do NOT get chew toys that resemble anything you have--like shoes, feet, cats, etc---get the ones that look like toys--and don't worry if he eats them, they are ok---just dont get the squeaker kind as they have that metal thingy. Do NOT use the crate as punishment, he will get confused between that and his home-- then get some good dog odor remover for the kitchen floor--I guarantee you will have a good dog in 3 weeks. Oh and if he is the high strung variety, you will have to walk him at least 4 times a week to keep the energy level down. Feel free to contact Me off boards for any other advice. There is no such thing as a bad dog, its bad training. I'm sorry, the crate method worked wonderfully for all four of our dogs. We no longer use crates because they no longer need them, they're such good dogs. :)
