There was a time in the not so distant past ,
A Beautiful Indian Princess , came of age , meaning she was ready to take a Man for a Husband, Her Father was the Chief, a Wise, Courageous Warrior, and it would be he who made the choice for a suitor for his most beloved daughter, Moon Fawn, She was breathtaking,
Of all the Young Warriors in the tribe their were two that stood out head and shoulders above the rest of the eligible bachelor warriors,
First Warrior was Running Bear, Second Warrior was Falling Rocks,
The Chief had known these warriors since they were babies, Had watched them grow up, He really knew them in Peace and in times of War, He had respect for both warriors, they each had about the same worldly goods , fine horses, many furs and pelts , both fine artizans, His Daughter actually Loved both warriors as well,
The Chief not being one to just give in to luck of the draw , say to flip a coin. Went into solitude , and pondered on this very important decision,
He came before the tribe and the two warriors, Every one became quiet,
The Chief began, Running Bear,,,Falling Rocks, Both Brave Warriors , Both have won my respect many times in Battle an in Peace, Both of You wish to wed my daughter but only One of You will,
I can not decide , so i will let it be up to the One who accomplishes this task first ....
On the sacred mountain of the White Eagle You will find the Nest and there will be a White Eagle feather You will take and bring back to Me, You who accomplishes this first, will have the hand of my Daughter, Moon Fawn......You will go with no weapons, nor any food , nor any clothing, The trail to the Sacred Mountain is frocked with Danger, raging rivers , deep ravines, ferocious bears, sheer cliff to the top of the Sacred Mountain where the burly oak tree branch That holds the nest to the Sacred white Eagle, juts out 50 ft over a mile drop to bedrock below, You then must make the return journey , If You are willing You are to go NOW! the two warriors look at each other disrobe and start out at a run , the villagers watch as the warriors run out of sight.... a day goes by, there is much talk in the village, the elder warriors who have been to the sacred mountain don't expect that it possible for the warriors to get back before a weeks time.....2 days , 3 days 4 days 5 days abit of apprehension starts to develop in the village the young boys start to climb to a high spot to be the first to see who is first 6 days , 7 days , 8 days now everyone is getting concerned 9 days , no one the elder warriors are now concern and begin to talk about possible setting out to find the two young warriors , for they know anything could have happened, 10 th day there is a sighting the village turns out and Running Bear stumbles in to the village , Bloody , broken, but he will make it ,
then 2 weeks go by , no sign of Falling Rocks 3 weeks no sign of Falling Rocks , 2 months no sign of Falling Rocks a year goes by no sign of Falling Rocks ,
Even to this day you will see signs along the way ,that say,
Watch Out for Falling Rocks ..............
ps ,, i know where these signs are here an about where i live and i tell this story just in time for the sign to appear as i tell the Last line ,,,,, in love an submission ..
