Glenn Beck is a braying bigoted ass who uses the same methods of scaring people into hatred as any other destructive fear monger. I lost what little respect I had left for CNN when they signed him on.

I think why they did that is because the right kept complainng that CNN is so Liberal .. so they hired a Right wing type to show the idiot contrast :) Does that help? Basically hanging them (conservatives) with their own rope :)

You mean like Nancy Grace or Tucker Carleson (remember, Crossfire used to be on CNN) or Paula Zahn who is now doing ' Countdown to the Rapture' specials whilst wearing Jesus fish necklaces .... or perhaps Solidad O'Brien or... CNN is loaded with conservatives. They brought on Glen Beck because they wanted to cash in on the fear mongering, hate slinging right wing talk radio market and were not at all worried about cashing in their legitimacy as a news agency to do so.

fast reply, there is nothing liberal about TV news. I cannot think of one liberal on TV. They sell centrists as liberals. If this country moved any further Right I would be looking for the swastikas on the sleeves of government officials. I do not know who Glenn Beck is as I only listen to the TV in passing. But it sounds like he is nothing but a shrill hate mongering scumbag like Bill Orielly, and Sean Hannity... it doesn't sound like I am missing much. With Bush's approval rating below 40 percent, the ousting of politicians like Lieberman, and the scandals concerning Delay you think that CNN could buy a clue and realize this country swung as far right as it is going to go, and now it is time for the pendulum to at least rest in the middle for a while.

Eeeek! I guess I need to expand my program watching of CNN. I've never seen those programs you have mentioned. Is it on the Headline News channel or that other one.. they have two.

I love him. But not for the reasons most people think of. I love him because he does the "What you did wrong this week" segment with Brian Sack, founder of one of my favorite websites, www.banterist.com . I also like that he doesn't try to bullshit around or sugarcoat what he believes. For the most part, he has at least something solid to back up his opinion and make you think, even if you don't agree with him. (And I often don't.)
