ORIGINAL: MistressLorelei I prefer to not arrive at my destination soaking wet, with windblown, knotted hair (it's long), Dressing for the occasion can solve both of these issues, it just requires 10 seconds or foresight. quote:
or in a body bag. There's risk in everything we do, do you want to live in a protective bubble all your life? Besides, according to 2003 figures from the National Safety Council, your odds of dying in a car accident are much greater than dying in a motorcycle accident (1:84 to 1:1020) ~stef The idea of wearing a protective suit and riding around in the 80 degree heat and humidity (rain) would not be nearly as enjoyable as riding in a car with windshield wipers, A/c and a roof... but that's just me. It's usually those with the motorcycles who are stopped underneath the dry overpass on a rainy day, but if that's fun... go for it. Well, of course you have greater odds of dying in a car accident. Look around the average road or parking lot and count the number of motorcycles and the number of cars. But, in your average 45 mph accident, I bet the motorcycle rider will sustain greater injury than the car driver. No, I don't live in a protective bubble. The poll asked if I like to ride.... I answered it and stated why I don't ride, like the question asked. I am not into machinery, or the love of cars or cycles as they aren't my thing.... I might break a nail. lol I wouldn't ride a motorcycle even if I felt it was safe. If you like to ride, wonderful... what's the problem? And, Thanks Scooter, for the hair tip, but I would rather just not ride, and leave the messing up of my hair for wild sex or something.
