Well, acording to what I see, it is not available as of yet.   Go http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0825728/ to check on that.

CalicoNymph -> RE: The Pet movie (1/21/2007 7:58:14 PM)

Please do not support this movie! The local club here in Nashville screened it on Friday night. It was horrible! This is not a movie I would encourage anyone interested in learning about 'what it is we do' to watch. This movie is about human trafficing and what can happen in that world. The story centers on a woman who has no other choice accepting money to become someone's pet for 6 months. He doesn't even treat her with the same caring and compassion you would treat a pet, in the true sense of the word. If she had been a real dog, the SPCA should have been called.

For me, the closest anyone has come to a true representation of 'what we do' falls somewhere between "9 1/2 Weeks" and "The Secretary".

Save your money, or better yet, take that money and attend a function at a club. You'll sure enjoy it a lot more! :-)

Well I don't advocate ignorance over education in such matters- boycotting artistic works never leads to goodness.

However, for me the closest representation to what we do is something like Legally Blonde.  People made tough relationsip and life choices based on what would fulfill them the most after a lot of hard self-discovery and determination.  THAT's what "all this" is about for me.

NazjamRa -> RE: The Pet movie (1/21/2007 8:21:54 PM)

yes you can order the pet movie through thepetmovie.com or suncoast.com or any site like that please note is only available by internet orders only that I know of.

Shadowsdream -> RE: The Pet movie (1/21/2007 9:29:11 PM)

I watched The Pet with several lifestyle friends last night. It has nothing to do with BDSM or D/s though it attempts to portray the connection. It is poorly acted with a fragmented story line trivializing human trafficking to harvest human organs.

Perhaps there is a hidden agenda within it to get out the message of human suffering for money which if in fact were true would be its only saving grace in my opinion.

I would not suggest others not see the movie due to my opinions for only through our own eyes do we make valid conclusions about difficult subjects.

luv4softbutch -> RE: The Pet movie (1/21/2007 10:55:04 PM)

I watched it but I felt it needed to be longer. I didn't like the ending.  Training a pet to end up being a organ donor was way off the subject I think.  maybe they will make a better one.  I wish they could have a series like "Big Love"  portraying the Poly life stlye. Only for The Master /Sub life style. [:D]

mnottertail -> RE: The Pet movie (1/22/2007 1:26:23 AM)

Com'on guys, this is the 90's you can get the goddamn thing on Amazon.

Austin Powers

TwoSeekOne -> RE: The Pet movie (1/22/2007 6:35:21 AM)

I agree, it made no sense to train/sell/buy a slave for organ donation. Think you are better off grabbing random people off the street. No acquisition cost. It seems the writer had two or three movies in mind and just decided to throw them all together at once. Movie could have ended with a happily ever after without all the human trade crap.

Aubre -> RE: The Pet movie (1/22/2007 7:36:32 AM)

All the people who really want to buy organs buy them from the Chinese anyway, that's what they use their political prisoners for.

luv4softbutch -> RE: The Pet movie (1/22/2007 8:56:11 AM)

Do you really think a girl could be approached so easily and know she is a submissive, like the Business man approached the girl. I think it would have taken a lot more time to gain  her trust then the movie portrayed.  I also think it would take more then two weeks to train someone pertaining to the comment in the movie about the military. ??

Missokyst -> RE: The Pet movie (1/22/2007 9:23:50 AM)

I don't know.. that girl seemed a tad simple to me.  I think she would be just as open to joining the Bozo academy of Makeup and Charm, as she would  to becoming one with some space alien cult.  The woman only had one outfit to her name.  And her personality.. did she have one?

Unlike others, I did not watch it as a representation of bdsm so I was not disappointed on that front.  I doubt that anyone would ever make a movie about what we do, since much of the day to day is not complex bondage, or gearing up in pony tails and 6 inch stilletto's.  I was irritated by the ending, it made no sense to me that someone would just curl up like that after accepting what she wanted.

I found it offensive that the end result, the moral of the story was, "see what can happen if you do this stuff".
It was almost as much overkill as watching that old movie Reefer Madness.
Nuts.

andreaC -> RE: The Pet movie (1/22/2007 5:58:28 PM)

I bought the movie the pet from amazon.com

CharmedAnne -> RE: The Pet movie (5/24/2008 5:17:29 PM)

I just watched the pet, (finally) and have a few words about it. I wasnt nearly as offended by the movie as others seemed to be. It clearly states in a few places that the unconditional love between a  pet and Master is like no other on earth besides maybe a Mother and child. I did get the feeling of devotion once she had commited to being his. There were of course some problems though. The acting and visual quality was definatly below par, but knowing that it was a low budget film, what can you expect? I didnt quite like the story line, it has possibilities but it felt like they had these great ideas about a intricate story but ran out of time and decided to just jump ahead to certain parts. Who in their right mind would commit to all that to pay for a burial for a cat? A real cat, not like a human cat... Also at one point they are talking about selling these girls and taking their organs right infront of them and the girls seem like they cant understand english anymore. I may be wrong but it would take more than a few weeks to make someone completely forget normal communication.

Would I suggest it to someone else? Maybe if they were looking into a pet lifestyle, but probably not for BDSM. It shouldnt be labled as a BDSM film though, but ofcourse the nilla world probably wouldnt understand just how Master/pet is a subdivision of the lifestyle and not always BDSM itself.

But I liked it well enough for what it was.

Anne

SireKane -> RE: The Pet movie (5/29/2008 10:20:58 PM)

D Steven  the producer of the Pet movie is a personal friend of mine. The movie was not intended to be a bdsm lifestyle movie. It has some  elements of D/s which the distributors thought would be a stronger marketing angle than human trafficing.

yaqeta -> RE: The Pet movie (5/30/2008 3:45:11 AM)

Advice to anyone thinking of buying The Pet - DON'T order it from the movie website.  Go Amazon or something similar.
The distribution company behind the site ripped off my credit card, charging me extra without explanation, and charging me for additional copies of the movie while only sending one (which arrived over 6 months later).  When I contacted them numerous times, I had no response.  Lucky for me my credit card company reimbursed my costs - but I presume not everyone's would so easily.

And thanks for the insight, SireKane.  I hope your friend gets a better company to back his next film.
