I thought the point of fantasies and art and such was so that we could express our most sickest and wrongest ideas in a healthy way?

In my mind, torture is much worse than death.  I would rather die, any day
than suffer real torture.  I guess if I saw death, murder, killing, and cannabalism
in Dolcet's work, it might turn my stomach, too.  I've not met a person with a
weaker stomach for gore than me.  Because it is a cartoon, I just don't see
anyone really dying or being murdered.   I am sure real cooked flesh would
turn my stomach, but when I look at Dolcet's work, I don't see human flesh
or meat that has been cooked, I don't see bodies with blood vessels, ligiments
and tendons.  In my imagination the female body is like some kind of
delicious tasty marshmellow or marshmellow ice cream.   In my imagination,
female breasts look on the inside the way they do on the outside. The last
thing I would ever want to do to a female is draw the slightest bit of blood
because that would instantly destroy my illusion of her body being
something tasty and edible.  I don't mean to lecture you, I just want to
let others know how I see things.

Best regards,
Michael

first on a techie sort of note....if you want to use quotes (i dont know if you do or not, but if you do) at the cartoon quote pic next to the ABC check mark box and press it it will give you a (quote)(/quote) option on your post. Then all you need to do is copy and paste the quote you want to use and slip it between the two and voilà quotes!

as to your post, glad you offered your explanation, makes it more understandable, and i found it interesting you think that breasts look the same on the inside, i have a massive 2 inch square wound  on my breast right now (not d/s related) and i can tell you after gazing at all the blood vessels and blood and what not i can assure you, they dont...[;)]

ps do you have and gary roberts or van gothe you might want to share?

If you like Dolcett you might (or might not) like this site:

that was a cool site thanks for sharing

I like Erotic/grotesque artwork depending on peoples tastes the image can fall in either category (maybe sometimes a little of both).

The Dolcett art most of us see on the net (outside of the B&D pleasures publications) were never meant for public consumption.
These pictures were shared with Dolcett friends with similar fantasies so there was no need to “tone the fantasy down” because it was never meant to be seen by anyone else.

There’s a lot of weird fetish art and hentai that I find disturbing but I can also appreciated the skill that went into the artwork. I think this is a matter of taste for the most part.

As far as psychos imitating art, artists are not baby sitters for adult whackos
. An Artist or a writer can not create a work around idiot proofing it for every type of nut he can think of that may maim or kill in any possible way.

I think there is a need for some of us to explore the twisted dark corners of our minds

http://www.bromart.com/
Brom is a good artist with some dark themes that are done beautifully.

I wouldn't call it art, I'd call it illustration. There is nothing in the drawing to raise it above the descriptive, its pretty much dead line.

You might find something of what you are after at this link. http://www.eroscomix.com/

darkinshadows -> RE: Art of Dolcett? (8/14/2006 3:08:01 PM)

Illustration is still art - but thats me just being pedantic... [;)] but I agree in calling it illustration... which is why I personally put Dolcett in the hentai league...

and mantis.... I love Brom.... good choice!

His art is interesting as an extreme of objectification. Some of it is a bit less extreme.

But you must admit..If it were real, staying off the spit by keeping in shape would be hell of an incentive to back away from the twinkies and hit the jogging path.[;)]

Kashan -> RE: Art of Dolcett? (9/9/2006 9:36:29 AM)

Oh how sad. Andy Warhol and Lichtenstein are probably rolling over in their graves. Their whole careers were built on showing the world that it's all art, from comic books to soap boxes to soup cans. Sigh. It's all art, and all us artists had to study to be able to draw even the "raw outlines" in proportion.
It also saddens me that just because it's not your kink, it's not art. I relish in the idea that whatever I can't do for real, the perversions in my head, I can paint them. I can experience them and share them. And I'm not nearly as perverted as I thought I was! But it is nice to see what some of the other options are, cause I I am very visual and don't often "get" a kink until I can see it.
I loved the Dolcett Art, and didn't care so much for the Muki's kitchen but am now going to have to go "take care of things" since I saw the eros comic book site. Thanks!
