Mercnbeth -> CollarMe - Year in Review (12/26/2004 8:47:04 AM)

Dred's reanimation of old threads sparked a curiosity. Anyone up to voting for this sites best threads and posters?

Suggest the following categories - please feel free to add more....

Best Newbie Question

Best "Gor" Thread

Best Thread for 'on-line' versus real time.

Best flame war (Un-pulled)

Best "Alternative News Story"

Best Thread - "Humor"

Dumbest Thread (Unless you feel there really are no dumb questions or thread)

Best Thread - "Drama"

Merc & beth ....

My head is still hurting from November 2d .... so I wouldn't want to vote on too many of those. As well ... I got called on the carpet by Mod4 for flaming the many wannbes and pozers on this site ... so I'll refrain from that as well. (I will give sfgrrl an honorable mention, though). On a positive note .... my joke on Marvin and his Chicken should get voted funniest joke in the humor section ....[;)]

I just became a member and going back to read the entire year is a bit overwhelming at the moment.

However I really enjoyed reading Grumpy's First post on the Creative Writting section and will nominate it for Best Drama. [:o]

As for online vs real time, you and Inside your Mind are for the most part neck to neck on that topic. To close for me to call.

as for the other stuff I'll have to keep researching but will post if I see something I feel worth nominating.

I would like to mention the household objects thread. I got so many good ideas from that one.[;)]:

household objects

No topic was worth mentioning in my opinion. We had some good ones, yet also bad ones.

The people though. I'd say inyouagain. Also shadediva. Two who really aren't around much anymore. Shade is now and then.

Gloria,
i find your response rather curious. To say that none is worth mentioning yet you have had over 1,100 posts.

If there was a category of dumbest email, I think this one I received this morning would be a contender

Jill,
Just because I have knowledge to add to post's now and then doesn't mean it really opened my eyes and I learned a lot from it.
That is what I meant.
Usually we hear the same opinions over and over again. Where people in general I have learned from. Not post's per say.

Awwwww! And here I think I really don't really think that i've added much at all, lol, I just love this place!

You are one of my favorite people to read hire - you usually have such a grounded view and your head is obviously solidly screwed on straight, it's a pleasure to read your posts.

I'm here - just lurking mostly, or seeing that folks have already said whatever I'd contribute so I decline to throw in redundant stuff. I prefer to post angles that haven;t been addressed yet - and well, this wonderful site has so many great people on it, it's rare an angle is overlooked! LOL!

I do love this site and there are awesome folks here that make it what it is. I hope it never changes.

I'd cry, I think, if it did. At least a tear or two. *smile*

That is precisely why your post's are a breath of fresh air. Your head is obviously on straight as well. As you already know. As you and I both know, we don't always agree with one another. Yet we have achieved disagreeing yet still respecting one another's thoughts.

ShadeDiva -> RE: CollarMe - Year in Review (12/29/2004 2:59:25 AM)

Well sure!

Variety is a beautiful thing - there is more than enough room in the world for my opinion and everyone else's lol.

I learn far more from those I disagree with that can discuss things in a clear fashion in an objective manner than I can from those that agree with me - I always learn something new when I run across someone that comes from an opposing perspective.

And many times, I find that it's a new way of looking at things - and sometimes, I even convert! Shhhhhhh! That's a secret! LOL.

God if everyone was like me, I'd be bored LOL!
