Which are the most effective nipple clamps for staying on while pulled tightly?  Alternatively, is it more effective to a tie a thin rope (like a noose) around the nipple?  Will that stay on while pulled better than clamps?

Thanks

Daddy uses these things and I actually have no idea what the hell they are for clamps but he calls them clothes pins on speed and they grip like you cannot believe. They are plastic and they sorta look like those things on the end of jumper cables

Clover leaf clamps not only stay on, but pinch even herder when you hang weight off of them. Some types of clover clamps even have loops to tie or suspend the weights from.
Not sure about if ropes would be practical. It depends on how and where you plan on tying the breast.

Plus they are usually the easiest to find and cheapest to get if you DON'T go through a bdsm vendor- just go to your local sewing/craft supplies shop.

Tying floss, or thread from the nipple can be done, though tends to be trickier, but you have to be even more concerned about circulation and easy removability.

That is a good question, I want to know also.  What are the best clamps for staying on with doing damage to the nipple?  I have little nipples and haven't found any that stay on very well.

Nipple clamps are notoriously difficult to get and stay on- I've seen more than a few scenes that had a ten minute break taken just so the dom could fiddle with them and get them on right...and then they slip off again.

So just accept that whatever type of clamp you use, if you start moving around or active in any way, they probably won't stay on.

Clothespin type/alligator clamps are the easiest to get on and get a good clamp.  The trick to damage or avoiding damage (other than piercing into the skin) is really time.  10-15 minutes at a time is a good rule of thumb for any type of clamp that is solidly clamped down.  5-10 is better if you're just starting out.

Clover clamps are the best when you are working with smaller nipples.  But what I have also found that works great is at the dollar store, they have chip clips, used for closing bags of chips, magnetic note holders (used for the refridge, and will typically have plastic teeth) and table cloth weights...they have pretty sturdy clamps (usually with ridges so they don't slip) and have a nice little heft to them as well.  I find a lot of items in the household/tool section of the Dollar store that My twisted mind can use in the Dungeon.  Just remember, your mileage may vary in the use of these items..but thankfully, at just a dollar, it doesn't matter much if they don't suit your needs in play, you can always use them for their intended design.

And then there are electrical aligator clips.  When you tighten down on breast clamps, nipple clamps tighten.

For some you might try the rubber castration rings they have a spreader you have to buy and you roll them off. It is a big rubber band type if you are good you can lay a string across the nipple  and then place the band across the string and then use to tie to any thing you like. I can assure you the do work. 1969slave made refference to them a while back as well. You can find them at any Farm and Fleet  or farm supply store

I have most often had the cloverleaf one's used on me also. Although the plain plastic "alligator" type ones have been used also. I have larger nipples and the bands have been used on me also, but I think just a couple of times. The dollar store can be your friend in finding different sorts of plastic clips and the like.

Are alligator clips not dangerous when pulled because of the "teeth" on the clamps?

As for the rubber rings, I know what you're referring to, but I imagine they can't be used for very long or they cut off circulation, and how do you pull the nipple with them?

Thanks for the other suggestions.  I'll give them a try.

There is some danger involved, but it's generally low risk and as long as you aren't dealing with metal or clamped so that they would cut the skin, it shouldn't be a problem.

You obviously shouldn't use the actual rings that come with it, or make sure they have been stretched so that they won't be a problem in that regard.

You'd have to use one hand at least to position the instrument and release the loop, so one other hand (the tops or someone else's) would pull the nipple out and work it into position.

tried to self inflict that once, but got frustrated because it wouldnt stay on. Granted, I have small nipples.

What exactly are the clover clamps called in fabric/ craft stores? I've been looking all over the place, probably passed by them on numerous occassions. I've been to all the local Micheals, Jo Ann, Crafts and Stuff.

They were originally called Japanese clamps. Historically they were used by Japanese fishermen as sail clamps. If you pay more than $10 a pair you've been ripped off.

I think the story of finding them at Michaels, Jo Ann, Crafts may be Lifestyle Urbain Legend. I think they are confused with similar fabric store tools used to thread a draw string or similar through a sewn fabric pocket. They do have some interesting items which can be used for fun clipping/clamping but they are small and most have an manually adjustable tightness bead, and very sharp teeth. FUN - but not as effective as the Japanese clamp which, as others have pointed out, tightens the grip when pulled. Adding weight or pulling tension produces more pinch.

I've never seen the Japanese types in any fabric store. (Trust me I've looked while beth browsed for costuming fabric.)

The size of the clover clamp would make the project very large for their practical use in sewing. Maybe in a upholstery shop, but again, the pocket would have to be very big if you are pulling a clover clamp through it.

Edited to add:

These you CAN find at a fabric store. They won't have the rubber tips, but they cost about 75 cents versus this source selling them for $15.95.

gator clamps are great, but they can tear the sensitive skin around the areola... try getting gator clamps with the larger teeth, then dipping them in that rubber goo you can get at Home Depot (cannot remember what it's called) the teeth can then be pushed through the rubber a little, but not enough that it bites into flesh and do damage.

By the way, really really cheap clamps can be found at any walmart... get some of their clothes hangers and remove the clips that hold the clothing on... there are a couple of different types. I personally love the ones that have a metal slide that tightens them... since they are made about 1 to 2 inches wide, they're great for clamping other sweet areas too!!!
