In that I've been reading some difficult though wonderful posts here today, I thought I'd start one for Positive Thoughts, so I can share a wonderful author's webpage.  I found SARK some years ago and have several books by her.  She's absolutely awesome...and her website uplifting.  To meet her, click here:

From the webpage, click the little triangle under 'Play!' to listen to a little video about her.  For more fun stuff, click home and run your mouse all over the pages...cool links abound!

Please feel free to add more UPLIFTING stuff...

The Carter Center has reduced the occurence of Guinea Worm Disease in Africa by 99.5%, and expects to eradicate it completely by 2009.  If it’s successful, Guinea worm will be the first parasitic disease to be banished from the Earth.

The Gates Foundation is the world's largest charitable organization.  By most accounts, it is also among the most innovative and effective.  It multiplies its substantial leverage by working together with researchers, companies, and governments.

Until recently, the Gates Foundation was funded almost entirely by the personal fortunes of it's founders, Bill & Melinda Gates, a remarkable work of philanthropy  Recently, however, they received a gift from billionaire Warren Buffet that effectively doubles the size of their endowment.  Admirably, Buffet chose not to develop his own "Buffet Foundation", but simply contributed his fortune to the Gates Foundation.

Listen and watch the dynamic Gates duo together with Warren Buffet being interviewed in depth by Charlie Rose on the day following "The Gift" at:

It's a little early yet, but it appears that there is the strong potential for a simple (read inexpensive, and noninvasive for the brain) skin test to be developed to test for the presence of Alzheimer's disease.  If this pans out, it will be a huge step forward in both studying and treating this disease.

While I'm suddenly jealous of Alt's Group owner abilities to deleat posts... I will say that ever since I saw something about those damn worms...when ever I feel some odd tickle at my heel; I remember the creepy things.  It's a good cause...

But...I was hoping for things more instantly gratifying.  Affirmations, personal stories of success, websites that promote things personally positive?

Uplifting and inspirational, apparently, are in the heart of the beholder.   I am always inspired by people doing noble things, and even better if they are doing great and noble things.  Likewise I am uplifted by progress on critical issues that threaten the lives and welfare of many millions.  But, that's just me.
