Make curry and draw a proper pint of guiness.

MistressMaamNH -> RE: unusual skills? (8/17/2006 2:35:34 AM)

I would enjoy a sub who knew how to read out loud in an engaging manner. It is definitely a unique talent.

Also one who could sing, and play a musical instrument.

P.S.
Great thread by the way [:)]

i had gone out to dinner to a very nice restaurant with a Dom and He had forgotten His reading glasses and could not read the menu at all.  So i picked up the menu and read it to Him as though i were reading a dramatic novel.  i had fun with it and made a slightly embarassing moment a very delightful moment.

Ahhh... another Guinness fan... the pour is important but the secret is in the temp & the proper gas mix of the tap.

Honest communication.... you'd think it was something simple, but I have found it quite rare to find and something I've had to draw out and teach, with varing degrees of success to many girls over the years.

One problem being that it is hard to communicate honestly when you don't really know yourself that well, and not many people do!

Oh! I'm very good at that. I'll have to add that to my list. Hank the Cowdog books are my all time favorite read-out-loud books. I do a great Drover.

Now I have a list of unusual skill on one of my journal entries but so far I've had no call for them. So far no one has asked me to enter a jammie changing contest or whistle them to sleep.

Oh well, I guess we can't all be massage therapists.

Looks like yours & a taste for Guinness....hmmm, perhaps its time to consider a change in roles, maybe explore my sub-side a little [;)]

You are right about the temp & gas, but I figured that as the dom, those things would be up to me to ensure....hmmmmmmm, now if we could find a sub who owned a nice pub........wanders away happily fanticising.....mmmmmmm Guinnessssss, naked servers, mmmmmmmmmm[:)]

MzTlaz -> RE: unusual skills? (8/17/2006 7:04:54 AM)

The same 'unusual' skills or traits I want in anyone....honor, integrity and an inability to lie.

And...yes...I find these highly unusual in people these days.

RavenMuse -> RE: unusual skills? (8/17/2006 7:14:33 AM)

Not noticed you before dear but after reading that I'm sure I will keep an eye out for more of your posts. I'm sure you will fit right in here [:D] Welcome to the forums

Pimpernell -> RE: unusual skills? (8/17/2006 7:21:38 AM)

Belly dancing, play medieval instrument and sing, cook: medieval/Ancient Roman and 19th Century British dishes (Regency or Georgian, I'm not fussy) and be strong enough to pull me in a rickshaw as I don't have a car.  Oh, and Shakespearean acting ability a definate plus.

MzTlaz -> RE: unusual skills? (8/17/2006 7:26:32 AM)

Thanks, Raven Muse.....I'm new to the site and really just here for the forums.

How sad that "honor and integrity" have fallen under the definition of "unusual skills". But in an environment where a cheating spouse can be rationalized as a "good catch" what can we expect?

Yes, I know a few people who are so used to lieing they do it without realising they are doing it.  Had one friend who couldn't say no to a party invitation.  Instead he would come up with elaborate and detailed plans on why he couldn't go.  I was standing right behind him when he was doing it on the phone, he claimed he was going out with me on that night, he even came up with a fake play name, author, theatre company, time, where we were going for dinner, the works.  The guy on the other end was trying to hang up but he kept elaborating.  The thing is 2 minutes later he had forgotten what he said so he started contradicting himself.  Then he had to lie to that person to avoid them long enough they would forget to ask how the play was.

My slave does have a problem doing this, because she blatantly does not want to hurt me because she doesn't feel submissive doing it and can't get over the idea of hitting her Master, but it is one of her requirements.

Hello :)

Would it be helpful at all for her to (if she doesnt already) consider it an act of service? By providing you with the experience you desire, shes being a good girl - providing service :)

just my $0.02

I've been trying to explain that to her. But she fears I am going too far too fast and that she won't be able to bring herself to my level of masochism. Of course, we'll see about that when she moves in.

The reverse, and what seems more "normal" she has no problem with. Nor do I, it's just, being both, I can't pick sides.

hi A/all

i have a question for the Dominants. what is an unusual skill you like your submissive to have? one that is maybe out of the ordinary or maybe just one she/he would not have learned yet?

- An ability to play golf
- Fluency in French
- Accomplished cook (culinary training)
- Understanding of financial markets

MzTlaz -> RE: unusual skills? (8/17/2006 5:55:50 PM)

Pimpernell.....yeah, I know that type.  Thing is how can you trust them when you know they do that.  If they ever start elaborating anything to you after that you're gonna think they're lying.

Someone recently showed me a photo they had promised me they had deleted right after taking it...obviously they had forgotten that they looked me right in the face and lied.  And this is someone who proudly wears, nay, flaunts, the 'Badge of Integrity'.

Tempting karma it is.

crouchingtigress -> RE: unusual skills? (8/17/2006 5:59:49 PM)

professional level manicurist because i would save 50 bucks a week on my acryllic nails.

MySweetSubmssive -> RE: unusual skills? (8/17/2006 6:03:17 PM)

Ohhh ... being read to!  Very nice.

A knowledge of and an interest in service from the Edwardian era.  I've also wanted to have a flirtation in the style of the 11th century Japanese court (The Pillow Book), but realize that in addition to not having a submissive who can do this, I lack the subtlety and the skills for it myself.

MzTlaz -> RE: unusual skills? (8/17/2006 6:03:45 PM)

Hmmm.....after thinking about it....besides what I said previously I would love someone who was an artist's agent....having someone to sell my art for me would be wonderful.
