Yahoo!  Goddamit!  I have used Yahoo as my homepage since I first got on the web about 8 years ago.   The page was by far the most user friendly, enjoyable page on the web for general use.  It was laid out by a good designer and sort of radiated outward from the center so you could see and locate anything immediately.

Now, the goddamed Yahoo idots have posted a piece of trash as a replacement for their old page.  It looks like it was designed by some artistically challenged retard.  Its as bad as the one the gov't agency I work for is trying to launch.  They keep shitcanning the prototypes because they're tiny lists devoid of any human compatibility whatever and the management just doesn't get it.  They can't get to a logical understanding of human interface and layered architecture leading from subject to detail, they keep wanting to put irreleveant details all over the page until it looks like the small print on a phony contract.  A web portal should not be cluttered with junk and buttons everywhere, it should have a rational, flowing, human compatible interface.  It should not require more than ONE second to identify and go for the item you're looking for.  Verizon has the absolute worst webpage on the web, it is the most info intensive page that takes forever to locate the correct button.

OK, now that I finished fuming, can anyone recommend a good web portal for a homepage.  Yahoo can shove it where the sun don't shine, I am not going to traffic an enterprise where the management is disconnected from the customer.  And I don't intend to piss my time away on Yahoo's crapsite.

Any suggestion for a really good homepage.

Use Google. No load time, very simple. No problems.

Why not use whatever page you go to most often. I use Google, Pet uses Hotmail

We are talking personalized Google homepages, right? With all those delicious news-feeds?

Yup, yup, yup...

That's what i use too, nothing to load. To set it just go to "tools" then "internet options" then under home page click "use blank".

But of course...this site has taught me alot...and to me that's what life is all about...learning. When I quit learning is the day they scatter my ashes to the wind. (Hopefully it will be the same day I die.)=]
