This morning I woke up around my usual time... 5 am (I don't set an alarm clock) and while walking through my kitchen, realized it's staying darker longer again.

After my bath I opened some windows and the sliding door to enjoy the cool morning air while I answered mail.  I love morning time...the still, the quiet.

A minute or so ago I heard the sound of geese flying low overhead.  I imagine they are getting ready to move...it's that time of year.  I love that sound...geese honking as they fly low.  I haven't heard it in months...but it always brings joy to my heart and makes me smile.

Sound is so evocative Bearlee...had to really think about this
1) the sound of my childrens voices calling out to me in greeting (not what they say just the sound)
2) the soft little noises my slave makes when he is sleeping
3) like you; wild geese flying over head (they started that here this morning too)
4) ravens calling in their territorial voice

A bird singing in the morning, the sound of my dogs yipping happily at my feet when I come home, but what brings the biggest smile to my face is the sound of my sub saying "I love you with my entire being."

1. Very early morning stillness, with the birds waking up
2. Creaking leather
3. A sweet, melancholy violin
4. A baby giggle
5. My dogs when they half sigh, half woof to get My attention

Ahh..the list could go on and on

I'll bypass all the normal "When he says he loves me" "When he says You're Mine"  "When he says My Property" etc etc etc

I hate the sounds of birds chirping in the morning, wakes me up.

I also love the sound of rain falling.  I love the sizzle of meat as it hits the pan.  I love the panting and groaning of a partner.  I love my older partners laughter.  I love when a Rob Thomas song comes on when I'm with my older partner.

Oh so many things and most are of nature.

The sound of water, roaring over a fall, spilling over rocks, trickling, rain.....god I love the rain.
Crickets and locusts, birds singing, the eagles call, owls.
My grandsons giggles.
My dogs when they are running so fast after a rabbit they can't get out a bark. I know they will not catch the rabbit but they don't.
My dogs contented sigh/groan when they snuggle up beside me.
My horses low throaty nickers when they are happy to see me (with feed bucket in hand)
The sound of their feet when I am riding and the creak of the tack.
The wind.
A Chinook (helicopter).
Old muscle cars.
The sound/feeling of a jet engine.
Coffee perking.
Car tires on wet pavement.
The lack of sound outside when it is snowing at night.
Thunder and lightening.

oh yes... lots of birds' noises!  Hummingbirds feeding in my garden ...  and owls always make me smile.  And night-hawks.

  • the sound of snow crunching underfoot when it's REALLY cold
  • Once...I heard a flock of cranes overhead...they sound a lot like chickens!
  • chickens
  • Yeah violins (Tears of Joy by Watson & Edge) or anything by Sophie Mutter or Vanessa Mae ...and of course the awesome sound of a cello by Yo-Yo Ma
  • The memory of my son's voice calling "Honeyyyy Bunnyyyyyyyyy?" (instead of Mom!) in the grocery store when he was about three and had wandered off a bit.  Gawd, THAT always makes me smile!

A very large chorus singing. Possibly a slow, beautiful song.

Ohhhhhhh... hawks!  When I lived at the cabin, there was a red-tailed hawk that lived nearby.  I regularly heard him call, high in the sky...it was lovely!  He once apparently got confused with the reflection in my window and knocked himself out!  (THAT sound was dreadful!)  I was sooooooo happy I got to him before the damn ferrel cats did, put him in a box to recouperate...and an hour later got to watch him soar back into the sky.  Lordy that was awesome!

But...what do 'baby hawks' sound like?

The baby hawks that were in my big oak tree were very screechy, especially when mom and dad would bring a snack.

Most everything my daughter does

Church bells.... though I am far from religious... the sound is so peaceful

The sound of the ocean on a calm day

Rain on my rooftop as it thunderstorms outside when im all safe and dry inside

The little whine made by someone special, and the words "yes Mistress" said by the same person.

The sound of birds in the trees

The sound of wind coming down out of the mountains

The the lack of sound when you awaken after the snow has fallen all night and you know it snowed before you even look out the window

My Lover's commands in my ear

Edited to add the cry of a brand new baby

My dog snoring. He is just a Beagle (he is fat, but still just a doggie) - yet he manages to snore as if he is a 250 pound Lumberjack.
