We've used simple clothesline (NOT the plastic coated variety), slipped under the mattress with loops tied in various spots for various positions. We also have a series of leather belts that are long enough for use with a king size bed, but have enough holes to be used on a full. Additionally, the belts can be used on chairs, or even alone for different activities. The benefits of the clothesline is that it's simple, easy and cheap. The detriments of the clothesline is that over time, the line stretches and the loops need to be moved. Additionally, in use, these can stretch, giving me more movement capabilities than he'd like. The benefits of the belts are that once on, I'm not going ANYWHERE. The detractors of these belts is that they are cumbersome to store, needing their own bag, It takes time to figure out exactly where the buckle will fall so as not to interfere in the play and yet give enough leeway on each side for variations in a scene without a major overhaul. The best part about the leather though is the smell... For some reason, being bound with the leather always puts me exactly where I need to be in my head for whatever's coming next. The clothesline, he picked up at a k-mart for about 2 bucks. The leather belts, I got for him for significantly more. (No one's selling them so I had to talk to someone that does leather work and have them made for him.) Beyond that, under the bed restraints are wonderful because while some people may play at home and have their room and bed set up for this, other people can't, and under the bed restraints allow restraint in play in any motel setting or other location away from the nice set up waiting at home. What I LOVE about them is that because you're attaching one end of the restraint to the person on the right, and the other end to their left, they are, in fact, their own restraint system. And what that does in my head is kind of nifty. juliet
