Maybe I was lucky but the only sex toy party I ever went to was given by a nurse who moonlighted with these parties.  Her info was correct and the party goers were fairly informed about their bodies.  One lady bought over $700 worth of toys.  Another bought $300.  Given that about only 5 were there it was hardly a party of prudes.  We all had a blast and were fairly open about things.

A gf & I had hosted a party some several years ago, we had it after work, made mixed drinks & J-E-L-L-O shooters, etc....  there must have been about 24 or so women there, 1 girl's bf (not her live in bf) gave her a blank check.  [;)]

Everyone had fun, we even had volunteers to try on the lingerie.  I don't remember anyone being prudish, lol.  [:D]

Before you start to pat yourself on the back for being part of the "enlightened ones", you might want to re-read some of the questions and opinions that are frequently posted on here. I don't think we as BDSMers necessarily are more enlightened.
Well, maybe some of us.[;)]

I've been to several of these and for the most part I find that the women are very well informed, not shy but there is a lot of joking around.  The last one I went to the presenter was quite funny and knowledgeable and the words 'cock ring' just rolled off her tongue as if she's just asked  you to please pass her a tissue. She also told us about a trio of products that she called "Hot, Wet & Horny."  Apparently there was one massage oil that warmed if you breathed on it, another product to increase lubrication and another that was supposed to make you horny. Only once did I go to a party where the presenter was just really silly in the way she explained things. Instead of saying "clitoris" she called it "your flower" and I was like WTF? as were the majority of the women there. I know the presenter personally - I met her at a BDSM munch so while she likes to think of herself as wildly kinky she's definitely got a highly prudish side to her as well.

I Anal Eze and all such related products should be banned from the market.  They are evil, evil, evil.

She encouraged the women to purchase sensitizing products to "speed up" the orgasm in their men....and told them to use the products on their men but don't let them know what the products are designed to do. She suggested they should tell their man it was a product designed to enhance their arousal.

that's just wrong

twicehappy -> RE: Vanilla Sex Toy Party experience (8/21/2006 6:03:02 AM)

Oh my!!!!

I went to one and one only, and could not keep my big yap shut!

I tried to just listen but i hate misinformation of any sort so i started telling them the truth and eventually referred most of them to a few vanilla sites for good information.

It amazed me that in this day and age any body could be so misinformed.

Did you play any of the "how sexual are you" games? They could come up with a score for me or either of my sisters because nobody ever knew that much.

All in all it was hoot but also kind of sad, i felt bad for the women who never really experienced even decent sex.

MstrssPassion -> RE: Vanilla Sex Toy Party experience (8/21/2006 6:16:24 AM)

I'm with you, I couldn't keep my yap shut either.

Sure there were a few jaws that dropped & after they wiped away the first droplet of drool they actually got past the shock factor & fielded quite a few intelligent questions. I was told at the end of the night by the woman giving the demo that it was the most fun she has had at any of her parties & she had been giving them for several years. We played some of her games & I introduced a few of my own.

As for the "don't insert an egg because it might break off & get lost" rumor... it happened to me before during a session. I just had the person sit on the toilet & flap their arms like wings & cluck like a chicken until they pushed it out. That story had people falling off their chairs laughing!!

Last night I attended a "vanilla" sex toy party. It was really quite an odd experience that left me wondering if the "vanilla" world is really as sexually clueless as the small sampling at the party. Now the group was about 20 women in size and their ages ranged from 27 to mid 50's. The presenter was not new and had been doing these parties for 8 years. I was a bit perplexed by the myths, misinformation and naivety.

from my experience with the average american, no claim of sexual naivite is an over statement. far as i can tell, them people are incredibly out of the loop for a developed nation, and in fact about as informed as third worlders.

When demonstrating the G-spot vibrators, the demonstrator did correctly tell the women approximately where theirs could be found. But then she went on to caution them that sometimes when you stimulate that area it makes you urinate. Only 2 women in the group stated that they had ever heard of a G-spot....and none had ever experienced a G-spot orgasm.

far as i can tell, if you push on the area it may make the woman feel like she needs to urinate. are you disputing this ?

When demonstrating the oils and lotions that "heat up" or "tingle" the demonstrator cautioned the women to be sure that none of it got into their vaginas or anuses because the sensations were "much too strong". She also said that women should only apply these products themselves and never let their partners do it as men have no control and would either use too much or put it in inappropriate areas.

lol

When demonstrating any of the vibrating bullet toys the demonstrator cautioned the women to never use them anally because the cords could break and they might get lost.

LOL

I jokingly asked her if any of the vibes came with A/C adapters...she was horrifed and told me and the others to NEVER use any type of electrical toy as they may have a short in them and if the electricity touched their clits their clits might never work again.

lmao

this is weird. sorta like shooting yourself in the foot ?what's this, puritan leftover ?

When it came to anal sex, she told the women to purchase the "numbing cream" because anal sex hurts. She also told them that they could never have anal sex without a condom....even if they had been with the same man for 20 years, because if any of the man's sperm got in their rectum it could cause a major infection.

also, sperm in the ass makes witches and bile demons come out.

She told the women if they have never had an orgasm all they needed to do was hold one of the bullet toys on their clits and it WILL happen.

pretty true for most women, far as i know.

thanks mist, was a fun post to read.

Many times when women have their first G-spot orgasms they are mortified and embarassed believing they have just urinated. I think it is important that we get the correct information about the mechanics of a G-spot orgasm to women so that they don't have to experience that kind of embarassment and shame. While some of the fluid that is produced may in part be urine....they are NOT urinating.

zenofeller -> RE: Vanilla Sex Toy Party experience (8/21/2006 8:31:16 AM)

no, no, i wasn't talking about female ejaculation, which for the record may result from any orgasm not just Gspot.

i was talking about a simple clinical no-arousal situation. if you get a woman to drop her pants and push on the g spot, she may well feel like she needs to urinate.

Mavis -> RE: Vanilla Sex Toy Party experience (8/21/2006 10:33:30 AM)

what fun stories!   Sorry your gal was so off-base though, i didn't think that was possible in this age of MTV and all.  My bridal shower was one of these parties, set up by my best friend.. she just couldn't imagine real bridal foo-foo for me!  My mom was 58 at the time, mother-in-law to be was 39.  There was plenty of blushing and giggling, but overall it wasn't that bad.  Two things stuck out:

Mom in law ordered me cherry flavored candy panties, with the comment "that's probably the surest way to get him some cherry on the wedding night"..  my mother did her virgin mary act and pretended to not get it. Although fiance had been sleeping-over at the house regularly.

Then a friend asked the presenter if her company did "small appliance repairs".  Mom again acted like she didn't get it, until the lady said it would be cheaper to buy a new one and proceeded to show the full line of possible replacements.   Mom later asked me how the friend had the crass brazenness to even admit to owning such a thing, let alone having worn it out.  lmao.

The candy panties were a silly waste of time, but i got some interesting nipple cream with capsasin (?) in it.. from my mom, who got some for herself too.  Not too shabby for 1982... 25 years ago this week.

Mavis -> RE: Vanilla Sex Toy Party experience (8/21/2006 10:39:01 AM)

oh!  As well informed as i thought i was, the EJ stuff was news to me until i was close to 30.   i mis-trained myself to not have more than one orgasm in a session because i thought i peed after two.  it was just too humiliating.  i think i was married about 6 years before i found out it wasn't urine.. but by then i had conditioned myself to "not let go enough to do that."

To this day,  even though i know better, and even though i know mate finds it wildly attractive, i still feel nasty ejaculating on orgasm, so i still try to avoid more than one good one.  i hope i'll grow out of that someday.
