I'm fairly new to this forum, as so far I have been very impressed with the amount of intelligence and thought that goes into the replies and posts from both doms and subs. Of course, thats not to slag off other forums, just to say that this is the only one i jave personally come accross that I feel input to it is appreciated. I suppose forums, chatrooms and the like are considered for those with empty lives and nothing better to do, but there seems to be some reading in here that must be from people with real lives, imagination, intelligence and everything! I have noticed that there are a few regulars here, and the odd occasional reply from people who don't post much. So is there a real community here? I mean do u communicate much behind the scences of the forum site, do u "matchmake" for eachother, and look out for potentials for your friends? I'm just wondering whether or not i should spend more time and effort inputing to this forum or not. I'm thinking I should, but at the end of the day, I am here for serious meetings with likeminded members of the opposite sex, so it would be a waste of my time if this forum does not proove to be a useful tool for this purpose. Or should I perhaps be widening my selection of tools?!

Can this forum be a good place to learn even if not hopeful of finding your "one?" Yes Should you widen your selection of tools? I don't know what you're using right now, but if it doesn't include real life, then yes. But not only by using the forums. Go out and find yourself a real person, not a profile. Yours, benji

Well, I can speak for myself only. I like being able to throw my 2 cents into conversations that are on the forums when something sounds relavent. I have been known to communicate with smoe of the regular posters off the forums, as well as offer the oppertunity to contact me to a few newbies who have had questions they were perhaps more comfortable asking in a private setting. I dont tend to matchmake, at all. I always thought that was best left to someone to do on their own. After having been through a few disasterous though well meant pairings like that, unless smoeone specifically asks me to keep an eye out for them, I dont. AS for nothing better to do, well, yes, thats a true statement. However having empty lives and having nothing better to do for an afternoon or a few hours are not the same. I am on hree when I finaly get online. I have a few hours to myself where I catch up on emails, browse the forums and profiles and such, and kick back and relax. But again, this is just me. These forums are where we bat our opinions around. If you want to watch for opinionated women, check profiles that way and then contact them, then itll be a useful tool for finding likeminded people. Otherwise youll get the same results browsing profiles. My boy never actually reads or posts to the forums, so for us, this had nothng to do with meeting. My 2 cents, as always DV

Well, I certainly don't wish to walk too closely behind Benji, as I would be likely to step in something, um, interesting. But, for the most part, what he said, um, barked. One thing that I might add, is that while part of what I do might be considered shameless self-promotion, I also feel enough compassion to want to educate people when appropriate and help them in enjoying a life I've led for quite some time. Then there's the times of snark, but we don't really need to mention that. Not in 'this' thread, at any rate. By the way, I suspect that there are some of the regulars here who know each other outside of this forum, that would not be the case for myself, at least not yet. Jeff

Cool, seems like a good place to bash opionions and thoughts round like you say, DiurnalVampire, and I agree with the idea of using it as a way of getting a rough idea of a persons caracter before viewing a profile. My social circle has many female friends who I can trust with my life, share time with, but none who I would dare to get intimate with, let alone allow them to dominate me! It seems I find it hard not to make friends with new people I meet. Thats just my way. My friends say that if I treat new people this way then people wont know i'm looking, or wanting to be found. And thats my friends saying that! Just thought that maybe the internet would be a good place to meet people where I can be open and honest right from the start about things that live deep in my heart, rather than being worried about offending new people I meet, for fear they may never talk to me again and think I'm a freak! I got too much respect for women to be forward in that way to them. Im a fairly new sprog and i got much to learn! No benji I dont expect people to run around for me finding partners! I still need convincing on this one, as my past experiances with internet forums/usergroups has been rather dissapointing, as I usually find most people on them dont care about the topic at hand and have there own weak agenda, or that members are fabracated profiles written by sad hacker type geeks n stuff! Anyway, going back to my original question, what inspires one to post here and what do you feel you get out of it? (by the way i appologise if any of what i say offends anyone, just trying to spark a friendly conversation!)

I am like DV. Sometimes I have more time, and sometimes less. I probably post less than many, much more than some. But I do try to make time to get here for a little while each day to check email and see what's new on the boards. If I feel I have something to add, I do. If it has already been said, I don't. This is very much like emails I get from boys who want to know who is attending My monthly munch. They won't be bothered to come if they feel like they don't have a good chance of meeting their dream Domina. Otherwise, they consider it a waste of their time. These forums can teach you a lot. In turn, you can also share and help out others with your own experience. You may meet people real time from these boards, or you may not. You may build confidence and get out into your local community to a munch. And eventually you will figure out where you fit, how you grow, what you learn, and get into the relationship that suits you and yours. Yes, you should definitely be here. So few are! It is a good tool, and you can learn a lot if you are open minded. If you just want to use the forums as a way to ensure that you will "hook up", then I would tell you not to bother. And yes, I know several people who post on these boards, and others I have spent time with on the telephone and will visit or they are welcome to visit Me. But that is not why I am here.

I see your point Dusty, I can see how it is easy for someone like me to come accross as far too over zealous and sleezy. I can honestly say that I dont mean to be like that. Just its I'm desperate, but thats besides the point! I just like to give a contraversial poke to new groups I meet, including in forums, so then it gives me an idea of how to interact with them, what I can offer to the group, and what I may hope for in return. I appologise for my "at the end of the day" statement, Dusty, thats lil me trying to be ironic or come accros as intelligent or something, i dont know. I think when I said "why im here" I meant "here" as in collarme, the BDSM personals website, I personally access the forum though a link on that site, so I consider them to be linked. But it definately was not meant to offend, or critise anyone or any thing.

I would just like to see you hang around, babymark. I met My boy through this site, although not through these forums. He now posts on a fairly regular basis at My behest. I think it is very informative, educational, and exposes one to the very many apsects of BDSM, D/s and M/s relationships. It doesn't replace real time, but it is one of the best forums for alternative lifestyles that I have seen. These boards are part of the the collarme site. But not too many people get over this way. Welcome, and I, for one, look forward to your participation.

In think ultimately, your time might be better spent elsewhere - assuming of course, what you seek is a real-life partner. Lots of information here but most everything you need in the way of information/knowledge has already been posted and archived. Everything else here is, for the most part, just mental masturbation. By and large, I find the forums no more than passing time for me. I'm clearly not 'finding what I seek' here, rather, sharing information and ideas with likeminded people.

While this medium can be wonderful for some, the odds are very slim that everyone will find the person they seek in the virtual world. However, this shouldn't deter you from sharing your thoughts and learning along the way. At least you will be able to cite positive gains that have resulted from the time you've spent here. Out of all the forums I've glimpsed of this nature, CollarMe is by far the most diverse and knowledgeable. porcelaine

I am actually not seeking anything. I am more of a "go with the flow" kinda woman. I have learned alot from the people here. Met a few people I really like and would love to spend time with, away from a computer monitor. However, due to some life crap I may find it impossible to stick around alot longer. Who knows, but it is an enjoyable diversion when my desk is rather empty.

I like them because I can offer advice or opinions.I can also read others thoughts on subjects.Afterall... Knowledge is Power. I have had submissives contact Me after reading My posts it gave them a sense of who I am.If I can do that in a Forum...well I am going to utilize it.
