Yeah surprise surprise I am somewhat Obsessive Compulsive.

Some things just have to be just right

But my daughter drives me totally wacky batty sometimes.

I stay up later than they do.  When my daughter goes to her room which is usually pretty early because it is her and Boss's time.  She turns out all the lights in the house, she locks the back door.  Now this 27 year old woman KNOWS I am still up and will be up and that I have night blindness and I am clutsy and clumsy. I trip on my own feet.

I set the living room lights on as dim as I can. I unlock the back door, we are in a zero crime zone area here. Boss has NO problem with this because I always make sure all lights are out and the back door is locked before I go to bed.

But still.....if she gets up.....you got it, the very dim lights get turned off and the back door gets relocked, and I stumble and trip over something.  I do not have I am blind skill here.

I have told her.....sweet daughter of mine are you trying to do your mom in here?

Does this help

NO.

So whats your OCD muttering or story?  What drives you nuts, you dont have to be OCD but I really think everyone does this, or is OCD, lives with someone who is, or works with someone.

Not edited because frankly I dont wanna.

I'm only ocd in that I worry.  A lot.  I build up worst case scenarios.  It can try the patience of some people.
My son, wow, ocd going on there.  He makes lists.  A list for school, a list for chores, a list for shopping.  Neatly crossed off when completed.  He's good at list-making mult-tasking.

Omg Katy

Go not get me started on her lists.  She makes flash cards for every possible tasks in this house, I think she needs a shelf to hold them all.

I am dreading the whole room she will needs for her list and cards in the new house which is about 4 times this size.  Thank goodness she will have her own office type area.

I am talking

wash whites
dry whites
put whites away
dust hall
vaccum office.

There is a small sampling.

ME:  Do not touch my computer, it is in the perfect position.
I will not sleep unless my covers are perfectly folded back without a wrinkle in it.
I wake up and its still just as neat most morning.
I drive people nuts with this if they have to sleep with me

I take medicine to help but it doesn't totally eliminate all my quirks. I must have the milk in the same exact position in the refrigerator. The bathroom towels and washclothes must be folded a certain way. The front door must be locked BUT the back door can not be ever. Before bed, the closet door must be shut in the bedroom and the hallway and all other walkway areas need to be cleared of dog toys, etc. I can get my hands dirty BUT must be able to clean them quickly after I'm done. I think my biggest issue is Smell. My nose is so sensitive that it does frustrate my family sometimes how i can not get past it. Don't let me miss my medicine (LOL).

Oh crikey! I have hundreds. The most irritating to myself is that I have to do things equally with both sides of my body - if I touch something with my lefthand, I have to touch it with my right with exactly the same amount of pressure - I'm not satisfied until I've had the same sensation on both sides of my body. I guess this is why if my girlfriend kisses me slightly to one side of teh forehead I make her either do the other side or be sure to get it central next time! I don't like to be touched on either side without having the other touched, too.

I check doors and windows, not just when leaving the house / going to bed, but every time I go past them. My own bedroom and car, etc are like a tip, but the communal areas of the house must be kept spotless. I only eat chocolate sweets in twos, yet I dislike even numbers. When adjustingthe volume on my car stereo, it must be done in increments of 5, even though these are quite big differences. I always start climbing stairs with a specific foot - but whetehr it is right or left depends upon the particular stairs. I count things - boy, do I count things! I count tiles, lights, bricks, letters, punctuation, everything. If ever there's silence in a conversation, I can fill it by remarking upon how many of a certain something there are.

These are just a few things. Damn I drive myself nuts.

I count down from 20 or up to 100 randomly (in my head.  I aint that crazy)
I have a giant change jar I count about once a week - $275.31 last time.
My phone has to have all names including last, and numbers have to start with +1
My duvet sometimes bunches in one corner of the cover.  I need to fix that, but my laziness usually overcomes that quirk.
(When I work as a bartender) all the bottles have to face exactly forward, the pourers exactly the same way, exactly even spacing.
I play, on average, about 30 Freecell games a day.
I am now over 3000 CM posts.

Yours,

benji

I'm OCD when it comes to my books on my bookshelves and the clothes hanging in my closet.

For my books, i have them in alphabetical order by author's last name. If i have more than one book by the same author, then i go in order of publication date, with the earliest to the most recent. I also have the same amount of books on each shelf.

For my clothes in my closet: My tops are hung in alphabetical order by the most prominent color. My jeans/pants are on one side of my closet, and my tops are on the other. They all face the same way, and are equally apart from each other. My shoes are on my closet floor, only in the order of how often i wear them. The shoes i wear less often are in the back, and so forth. Also, the right shoe is on the right, and the left shoe is on the left.

I also count my steps, whenever i walk, mostly stairs. And i trace everything from designs on book covers to table tops. Anything.
