Daddy4, that's nice only one problem when you live in New Hampshire.
If you try to go into the water at Hampton Beach it's so cold that your voice changes by three octaves!
Here in Myrtle Beach you can swim at the beach comfortably in 83 degree water.
I think the "warmest" it ever got in N.H. was 56 degrees!

*LOL* Yes, I live in northern Mass, not far from Hampton Beach - it never really warms up.  The only ones who go in the water and stay in are the little kids, age 5-10 or so... they are too excited to notice how cold it is, and don't get out until they are numb and rigor mortis is setting in!

I go in for freshwater swimming up here though... rivers, lakes and estuaries... not quite Myrtle Beach maybe - have a lime daquiri or an ice cold beer for me while you're down there roughing it, Popeye

Daddy4, I'll have a coke (I don't drink alcohol)
Yes, my brother (The Fire Lieutenant) had a place up in Maine on Sebago Lake and in the last part of July the water was piss warm.
I lived in Hampton for about 10 years.
The problem was the traffic as it was so small!
Myrtle Beach by comparison has 60 miles of sand beaches so traffic isn't a problem here.

Maine is my favorite state!

I am going to be AWOL from the forums here for awhile.  For the last week, I've just been spending way too much time here, and haven't gotten any work done at all.

Hope that you enjoy your stay in Myrtle Beach, Popeye!

i love what we call indian summer. the pruduce is awesome. i like when i dont have to hear the hum of a furnace or AC, or fan. im into feng shui- which i can hear my water fountain best this way.

as a kid i would set out on the porch w mr r. he would hit the jack daniels and tell me all the things in life that a grandfather would. we would watch the sunset and talk into the night.

i miss the "commutity ness"-

i like the sound of crickets at night.

I like summer in this very moment.  As it heads into fall.  It's warm, but not hot.  I like to sit out on the deck.  I like the smell of neighbors grilling.  I like to drink slushy lemonade.  And I like the way football is calling.

NH has some nice beaches. i never been to SC. i was in cherokee NC outside the smokie mountains. it was pretty down there. a female freind of mine moved to fayetteville NC, sounded like a lawless place- at leastt how she tells it.

i dont mind winter...i actually have more energy in the winter then the summer in recent years.

im in Pennsylvania... winters go in 10-12 year cycles it seems. we will get it bad... but it is no worse then much of the usa. i did not know what a nor ester was till 88. lol.  now i know.

[tho] as bad as they can be-  think the ice storms are worse.

Here in FL, what I like about the summer is:

1.  warm Gulf waters to swim in or take a drive 2-3 hrs away and jump in the cooler, refreshing Atlantic

2.  clothing choices & flip flops

3.  fresh veggies and fruits in season everywhere

4.  more daylight

5.  people watching

=====================

When I lived in MA, what I liked about the summers were:

1.  4th of July in N.H.
2.  weekend trips to R.I.'s Misquamicut State Beach w/ friends
3.  listening to the Beach Boys
4.  driving to the local dairy for the freshest ice cream around
5.  going to Rocky Point (no longer there now) for fresh shore dinners

This afternoon I was floating on my back in the pool looking up at the clouds and seeing faces, animals etc in them.
My tan is getting very dark now.
Later on I drove over to Murrell's Inlet to a fish store and got 3 lbs of shrimp fresh off the boat a half hour earlier.
Then tonight we had thundershowers and thunder and lighning for three hours straight!
I love summertime!
What are some of the things you like about summer?

That'd be about right! there you go sprouting off about lazing in the pool on a Summers day and here I am in the middle of Winter with the temp ranging from 5 degrees Celcius to 30 degrees Celcius (41F to 86F) and a bad bush fire season started... Typical ex Navy just trying to keep us ex SF grunts out of the loop... Enjoy mate.

i absolutely love summertime.  There's nothing better than being able to wear short skirts and tank tops.  The winters up here can be rough and so when the summertime comes, i enjoy it as much as i can.. because it's always way too short.  ~looks at the calendar and realizes it's less than two weeks before the little one goes back to school and sighs..~ Dammit! summer's almost over!
