you are right the giving and taking of a person blood makes a speical bond between the two parties, my ex master and i did a long time ago share. he cut me, and then feed from me, talk about a head rush.

Knife play doesn't have to mean cutting and bloodplay.  Temp play and introducing other play to mix with the blades is even better.
 
Torture me, threaten me, cut me, mark me, corner me, provoke me, tease me.  I have seen wonderful cutting work and akin to the most fabulous tattoo and ultimately, I will be scarred by his work and the mark of his choice.
 
And if any of you are looking for a blade, I recommend Aneirins work (shameless plug, my friend) - and cannot thank him enough for his beautiful and unique gift .

I collect knives and carry one at all times except on airplanes or where they are forbidden. To me, a knife is a tool and/or a weapon, not a plaything -- which is why knife play is one of my hard limits...

Status: offline 		As you can probably gather from my handle, knife play is one of my *favoritest* things in the whole wide world! For me, I am easily able to suspend disbelief and sink deeply into the fear factor of having a razor-sharp blade near my skin. In fact, many times, there is no disbelief suspension required...my Dom plays with VERY sharp knives, and if one of us were to slip or squirm...the threat is very real. This involves a very high level of trust, so I wouldn't do knife scenes with just anyone; but, done with the right person, they bring me to otherwise unthinkable heights of arousal in record time.

As for bloodletting...I should state clearly that I am NOT into cutting. Things that leave permanent marks/scars are not my style. The most I've ever gone home with are a few nicks and lots of light scratches, and I have never bled more than a drop or so from any of them. For me it's a huge combo platter of all the other things knife play can be: the threat, the feel of the cold metal, the weight, the pain of the scrapes or the tip as it bites, the sharpness, the unyielding nature of the blade...they are all glorious turn-ons for me.

All that being said, I do have a sort of remnant vampire fetish from my youth. Should anyone ever cause me to bleed (as a side effect/accident), I would find it extremely erotic to have them "feed" on me. I also appreciate hearing about non-cutting/dragging uses for knives e.g. peeling wax off. Definitely something I'd like to try :)

My kitchen knife I use is so dull. I'm surprised it even cuts watermelons (I think because I force it to). Though I know how it got that way. I used it to sharpen pencils.

Status: offline 		I understand your concern, I also love to use a knife to peel wax although I prefer a very sharp knife I relay on the feeling of the knife in My hands in conjunction with the pressure applied to the blade to peel the wax and not the skin. Hope I am making sense.

ONe should always be cautious whenever they play with knives, but I don't find this activity particularly high risk if done properly.  I've seen it done countless times, done it to others and had it done to myself.

And I always recommend using sharp knives with play- dull knives are unpredictable and unmanageable, you don't know where a sharp place will suddenly come out or snag.

Bear- I did think of a way that just knife play still gets me going and that's when it's inserted vaginally and used as a dildo.

Seems far too dangerous, unless the knife is so hopelessly dull it won't do much of anything (although I'm sure as a bottom, you wouldn't know whether it was dull or not). I have had the flat edge of the blade used on my clit before although I didn't know that at the time. (the top of the wedge, the spine so to speak). Is this what you are talking about, or do you actually mean inserted into the vaginal opening?

I always test that particular knife in question on myself. I admit, I do need a good knife for knife play, and from what I gather, high quality, really sharp blades seem to be the most highly recommended. However, I also would need to practice on myself first before taking anything to someone else's skin I don't know first. I don't use anything I don't trust.

How would one practice this? If it is possible, or preferable, I would like to learn. Is it a question of not applying much pressure?

Ok, now everyone has me thinking about expanding my repretoire, although alas, it will be a good time before I see enough money to get a high quality blade (bills, tuition and having to go to NJ and back, all at the same time doesn't help much either).

Granted, I tend to always want to know "how".

Actual insertion.  Obviously size of the knife comes into play, and then just go slowly and carefully.

Awww, thanks bearlee. In actuality, it was your use of the word "filleted" in the original post that made me think that having the wax removed via knife might be fun :) Anything that can cause pain without causing real damage rocks, as far as I'm concerned. :D

And yes, there are so many levels of every kind of play. I love haunting these boards as I am learning loads of great new stuff daily!
