LadyEllen -> Names and Titles (8/24/2006 5:31:32 PM)

Hi All

I expect this one's been done already, but with new people joining all the while its worth doing again (I hope!). I just wondered what the inspiration was for members' screen names?

For instance, why IronBear? why Level? etc

Mine is Lady Ellen (obviously) - which isnt some claim to aristocracy or even a claim to be some superior being (though I am), but is derived from my lairdship of some land in Scotland, which entitles me to be a Lady on here.

Lady Ellen of Glencairn

IronBear -> RE: Names and Titles (8/24/2006 6:02:08 PM)

Greetings and felicitations Lady Ellen of Glencairn,

Name: Iron Bear. One of my best friends and one of my ‘Nam Special Forces troopers is Lakota. We became Blood brothers after ‘Nam and his father formally adopted me into his home. After a small episode in Malaysia where I dealt with several young male rapists who had raped another member of my extended family, I was named Iron Bear after the original Iron Bear (Lakota War Chief at little Big Horn and member of the Bowlance brotherhood)

Titles: I use Master in lifestyles for I am the Master of House Iron Bear (Now a Victorian Home). I also have a Masters degree in Applied Psychology (Considering on doing my Doctorate). Esoterically, I am the Grand Master of a Lodge. Being an ordained Pagan Priest, I use Rev. when dealing with various areas of my local mundane community. At times my Military Title (Lt. Col. Ret.) is used on certain formal occasions and State Functions which I may attend or be required to attend, there are several hereditary titles (British as well as Prussian and Danish) which are used. However mostly I am referred to as “Bear”, “IB” or “That damned bear”

  I wish you well

  IB

IronBear -> RE: Names and Titles (8/24/2006 6:08:59 PM)

Greetings M'Lady,

It is my understanding that if your are a Scottish Laird and can claim the leadership of a Clan, you have a heriditory seat in the House of Lords.(Unless they changed the rules without telling me). As such the title Laird is also an Aristocratic title..

I Wish You Well

Fondest regards

Iron Bear

Lordandmaster -> RE: Names and Titles (8/24/2006 6:21:28 PM)

Mine's Lam because that's short for Lordandmaster.

Oh, and I chose my avatar because it's a picture of two elephants fucking.

mstrjx -> RE: Names and Titles (8/24/2006 6:25:03 PM)

I have answered this once, but.....

mstr - Self explanatory

j - see below

x - well, there's the mystery

Why is it all lowercase?  It's my name in a lot of places, so I've never really cared to change it.  Not much of an ego, anyway.

Jeff

WetHotGoddess -> RE: Names and Titles (8/24/2006 6:27:02 PM)

My mother named me Ariel when I was born.  WetHotGoddess is not my title- it is merely a screenname.
My slave calls me Mistress because that is what I am to him.  Other people call me Ma'am, just because.. maybe they respect me or maybe they consider me to be old.  LOL

LadyEllen -> RE: Names and Titles (8/24/2006 6:37:25 PM)

Hi IronBear

Sadly not - a Laird is a landholder, the equivalent of an English Squire, so no seat for me, I'll have to get there the hard way - up the greasy pole! Some Lairds are also clan leaders (but that doesnt entitle one to a seat either) and some are landed gentry (super-Lairds!), who were formerly entitled until a few years ago when Tony Blair kicked most of the hereditary peers out of the Lords in favour of appointees.

E
PS - so far its not going well, as the only Poles I know, on close inspection, are not at all greasy.....

HarryVanWinkle -> RE: Names and Titles (8/24/2006 6:59:37 PM)

Oops!  See below.

HarryVanWinkle -> RE: Names and Titles (8/24/2006 7:00:46 PM)

Harry is my real first name.  The "VanWinkle" refers to the fact that I was emotionally asleep for many years until I had a re-awakening about a year and a half ago.  Actually, it started out as "Rip_van_harry" which is still my Yahoo Messenger name, as I'm too lazy to change that.  But, when I signed up for a mailbox at gmail.com, I changed it to HarryVanWinkle, which I also use on alt.com and bondage.com.

As to titles, I'll answer to anything a Dom wants to call me as long as it doesn't insult my mother.

gooddogbenji -> RE: Names and Titles (8/24/2006 7:05:15 PM)

gooddogbenji refers to the fact that I'm not good, not really a dog, and I'm a dirty liar.

But my name is benji.  Kinda.

Yours,

benji?

JustaDom -> RE: Names and Titles (8/24/2006 7:14:34 PM)

I'd love to just use "Joe" but the odds of me being the first person to register that are slim.  Longer than I care to remember ago,  I was in college and doing some BDSM research at home.  I needed to start registering at places and I wanted to avoid a lot of the overly self important, self imposed title stuff that most of the dominants were using then (and still are.)  After wracking my brain for a bit, I thought "well, I'm just a dom" and gave it a shot.  I've been using it ever since.

I think it was a good choice, as it lead to a great relationship with a great girl about a year later.  She thought the screen name and profile were clever, wrote me and we had a mostly great two years after that.

Joe

LotusSong -> RE: Names and Titles (8/24/2006 8:24:07 PM)

A lotus is a beautiful flower that has it roots in muck and mire and rises above it all to face the sun.  Just added "song" cause I thought it was pretty.

addisonclarkgirl -> RE: Names and Titles (8/24/2006 8:36:30 PM)

addisonclarkgirl...

Oh...and i'm a girl [:)]

kitty2MLoneWolf -> RE: Names and Titles (8/25/2006 9:39:54 AM)

When Sir took me as His.. He decided what He really wanted was a pet. Since I am more of a kitty cat than a puppy, He has chosen to call me kitty. The MLoneWolf is for Master Lonewolf which is the handle He uses for Himself. I find it amusing to have a wolf own a kitty... kind of dangerous dont you think? <wink/grin>
