Ok so we've been covering the ins and outs of how we know people are attracted or arent.... my question is when you're in a relationship and you get the moments of recognition that you're beautiful in his/her eyes, actions or so on, how did you feel and what were the elements surrounding the situation? I have an easy one to recall.... kinda started on popeye's thread but I didnt want to hijack it... A couple of years ago I went and met a switch. I stayed in his home for a few days, upon arrival I was looking rather rough ( who wouldnt after a 20 hr ride on a greyhound bus lol ), after I got there a shower and sleep was really the only thing on my agenda ( it was something like 3:30am when I finally got there...) so anyhow... the first night I was there was definately not a prime look good time lol. The following day I was kind of thrown into the middle of a HUGE family BBQ in honor of my b-day ( the trip was pre=planned as a b-day get the hell out of ohio thing and I met him in the process of planning and so thats how I ended up there for my b-day) being woken up to a huge group of people I had no idea who they were and not having a bit of time to get ready it was also not a real look great moment either lol. ( no one seemed to mind though and it was fun getting to hang out with everyone in just jeans and a t-shirt) so finally the last day I was there everyone decided that they wanted to go get icecream... My one free shot at getting some alone time to actually do something with myself as far as "dressing to impress" goes. I managed to talk them out of dragging me along for the trip out and stayed in, took a shower did my hair.. you know the whole 9... well when he got home I was sitting in the middle of his bed coloring one of those velvet poster thingy's ( yeah lame but I was bored and no one else was back yet lol so it sounded like a good idea lol ) The look on his face when he came around the corner and into his room was priceless... I dont think I'll ever forget it... You could have scooped his jaw off of the floor and the smile that crossed his lips.... sighs yeah... it was just one of those moments in time where everything just kind of stops and ceases to exist.... there were a few of those durring my time there with him, but that one just took the cake... I think I wore the blush the enitre way home too.... hell muh cheeks still pink when I think about it...

I have only had one moment like that with my boy that I knew about. We were out witha group of his friends from campus. We had gone out to the loccl burger joint, there were 5 of us. Me, Angel, 2 male friends and a female friend. After we finished dinner, we were sitting out in the parking lot BSing about nothing in particular, and taking pictures of one another with one of the guys new digital cameras. One of the pictures, I was sitting next to the girl, and Angel and the other guy were behind us. The other guy put his arm aruond the girl, so angel put his arms around me for the picture. It was sweet, and since Angel isnt much for public displays of affection, I was kinda surprised. The guy with the camera showd us the shot he had taken, which happened to have turned out amazingly well. He said "Wow, you two take an amazing picture together" Angel kissed the back of my neck (which is WAY way out of character since none of the friends knew we were together) and whispered in my ear "Any picture you take is amazing, at least Ive always thought so." then he stood back up, and went to shoot the shit with the other 2 guys. I was shocked, but touched beyond belief. He even said "I love you" when he had helped me back up, and had his mouth near my ear. He isnt much of a romantic, most young guys arent. But every now and again, it melts me. And he doesnt even realize it. DV

To be honest, I feel quite powerful in that situation. I don't usually blush though, but I'm not an exhibitionist either, even when I do show lots to impress. And sometimes I like to abuse (or I used to abuse) of this power to get something in return (free drink, free food, free cigarrettes, lower prices, taxicabs discouts, etc). But I think looks aren't necessarily important to make your significant other to drool (or anybody). Good looks or pretty dresses are nothing if they're not complemented with a charming, carismatic, funny or smart person. And you only get that if you truly believe you are these things. As my Dom says: 'You are a geek's wet dream', which doesn't mean I just look right or pretty, it also means I have something else to show, 'lots of confidence', that's it.

Sexy looks are completely in the eye of the beholder. I was told, by my boy well before he as mine, that he was torn ebtween which of my pictures he liked best. One of me in lengerie, and one of me in a tee shirt and denim shorts, with a pony tail and a baseball cap on backwards. Both, he said, were really hot shrug And yes, Reflectivesoul, that and the deer story are the 2 memories I will NEVER lose, no matter how many more we make together. Since I already took the strole down memory lane there was another time ( same place as before just different day) that just kind of sticks with me too.. and although I know its a sappy thread as far as they usually go.. its kind of nice to indulge the romantic shit ocassionally lol. The night that I arrived after I had gotten a shower and was getting ready for bed he put the CD we had made together ( I burnt us each a copy before I went on the trip so I could listen to the songs on my way there... we had chosen some 20 songs that we both kinda just felt said "it all"...) we were dancing to the music and the lyrics went " Dancin in the dark, middle of the night, taking your heart and holdin it tight...." He said wait hold that thought, reached over and flipped off the light and said ok now its perfect.... Talk about going "melt"....

I definately feel ya on the powerful part of it. I have learned well how to use that, but there have been times where thats all it was, just the power trip... I set my mind to get what I wanted and did... I guess for me though I'm much more comfortable on the plains where its my doing, its my situation, I control it... but there are the few times where it just comes about on its own and I dont think I'll ever quite figure out how to deal with those cause it always catches me completely off guard. I guess that comes from years of using attraction powers for my own gratification and never really believing they were there outside of that realm.... if that makes any sense at all? Its kind of hard to explain.....

That's quite true too!, I remember having a boyfriend who prefered pictures of me taken by surprise in random moments than any sexy super production (he was carring his damned camara all the time!). I guess cuteness is more related to the heart and sexy to the eye. That's why sometimes they rather see you in jeans and t-shirts than in black leather... ...I said 'sometimes' (lol).

oh man I so totally blame y'all for this thread lol.... popeye with the shoes, steelriven for the what do ya do thread, and cuteirish for the music thread... lol this is so not my fault lol... but for real its nice to sometimes just kick back and think about special times and places in our lives.... even if its sometimes so bittersweet when they are gone that it just tugs at you.... yeah anyhow... gawd if I keep this up I'm gonna lose my bitch reputation... sheesh lol like we want that to happen.... lol

Its kind of hard to explain..... It makes sense, at least to me. The 'feeling powerful' thing usually hapens without our awareness, until we set ourselfs a more difficult challenge. That's when I realise I have the control of the situation, but I'm also in a bigger risk of looking way too smart ass or bitchy...which can be good or can be bad... I guess it depends on who am I trying to trick [8D].

Hmmmm I know for my partners sometimes they will look at me with this goofy grin on their faces and sparkly eyes and reach over to hug or kiss me and tell me how awesome I am. The only memorable time I can think of getting a certain reaction was when I put on a burgundy velvet corset dress for a Renn Faire and got a few drooling smiles. I liked that.
