How do you collar?

Do you ask the slave/submissive of your interest first.. or do you expect the slave/submissive to request your collar?

My current slave requested my collar.

Collars equal stability to me. It takes a while to get there with a relationship of any kind.

I can't answer the question in black and white terms. I dislike trends and fads like "collars".

When it works, it does, and I find it rather insecure to have to symbolize that.[&:]

Everyone has to agree to it in the end, so it's just a matter of preference and emotional attachment that chooses one over the other.

With my Master it was more of a mutual agreement.  He wanted me to wear His collar and i wanted to wear one i that i could have on all the time.  But more importantly is the committment between us.  W/we are both married to partners who know and approve of our relationship in fact Master is good friends with my husband.

I could care less about the "whever works for you" attitude.  In any realationship.. someone brought it up.. if they indeed DID do a formal collar.  Who spoke up first?

 I asked my Master if he'd *have me*. He says he thought *long and hard* about it.

I have offered my collar once before.  And aside from my boy now, whom I am waiting until graduation and the collar is going to be his graduation gift.. Ive only ever collared one other.  Unfortunately, it was a poor choice and the collar came off a few days after it went on. 

As for my current, he knows he is getting it for graduation.  We will have been together just over a year at that point and we both agreed if things are still going well at that we would move ahead then.  Thats about the same time we are cconsidering the live in position as well.

My Dom is considering a collar for the first time in 16 years.  I will not beg if He choses to make me His then that is how is shall be but He also prefers that i experience Others since for both of us the collar is as much a committment as marriage and not something either of us would wish to do again.  Having recently lost my vanilla husband i have to say i am not in a hurry to accept a collar either.  I have had more than one offer of a collar recently but as much fun as They are and as rewarding as it is to be at their service i still have eyes only for the One.  Hopefully one day we will collar but then the world will not come to an end if it does not.  Guess that means i am not ready yet!

Never done it yet. I think that if the sub and I were obviously compatable, were getting along well, and her service was good and it was obvious that we were happy together I'd suggest it.

i asked if he would be my Daddy, it was a troubling couple of days when i was fighting the urge to call him anything besides Sir because when we had discussed it before, it was more like if the visit went well, at the end i would get a training collar, then 30 days later i would have to beg a house collar and then after a year, beg a personal collar, well, it didn't quite go like that....the visit turned into a move, having my family send me my stuff, and skipping the training collar...we'll see how it goes from here...

I begged his collar.  Master will not own or collar a girl who does not ask for it.  This is his way of ensuring that she is coming to him of her own free will and asking to be his slave.  Then there can be no question as to whether or not she had doubts or felt talked into it.  Only when he knows she is there of her own accord and wants it badly enough she begs for it, does he take ownership (if he chooses to) and expects her complete obedience.  He feels a submissive/slave should not take the decision of handing herself to someone else lightly, and if she is in a position to ask for his acceptance of her submission, it causes her to think about it carefully.

i asked Master for my collar. i wrote a "petition for Collar"  and then memorized it and  recited it during a special scene i had requested. He was so pleased and so enjoyed the thought i had put into it that He actually framed the petition and it hangs on the wall next to My ownership papers from the slave registry.

Judging if you are both ready.

Generally, I expect to be the one asking the slave/sub if he wishes to be collared. 
 
However, I have had slaves/subs request My collar.  When this occurred, it was before I felt comfortable enough to offer one (otherwise I would have) and I explained to them that it would take some more time.

me and my Master had been seeing each other for 2 months in a vanilla relationship, and W/we sat down and i explained to Him how i felt, and i knelt at His feet and begged Him to collar me.... and He did [:D]

I was told I would be collared,  and shortly after married for the nilla side of things having said that   we are no longer together and we didnt get to the collar part lol
