WyrdRich -> Did the Right Cause 9/11??? (8/26/2006 8:20:37 AM)

CNN is running a special tracing the growth of Al Quada.  They were about as open and clear on what was being planned as the current Iranian President is being.  How did a smart guy like President Clinton just let something so serious slide?

I think part of the problem was the time Clinton was forced to spend defending himself against the constant attacks on his Presidency and person by hateful geeks in the Right-Wing.  How many briefings had to be trimmed, how many meetings cancelled, to make time for the lawyers?  How many hours of sleep were lost to worrying about the Monica situation instead of the Osama situation?

And when he did try to respond, he was accused of "wagging the dog" by the same people who claim to care about national defense today.

Somewhere in all the information President Clinton never quite got to, or the stuff he was too distracted to properly focus on (maybe that is what Sandy Burger had in his socks?) was the key.  All we needed was for our Rhodes Scholar to say, "we need to get more Air Marshals flying," and that miserable Tuesday morning might never have happened.  Instead, he was dealing with a 5+ year, 60+ million dollar investigation that turned up...  a blowjob.

Yes

KenDckey -> RE: Did the Right Cause 9/11??? (8/26/2006 8:44:37 AM)

Hmmmmmmm   I don't think so.   First no one from the right that I know of forced clinton to lie or get a bj.   I believe that if he had just stood up and said   Yeah   been getting bj's regularly so.  that would have been pretty much the end of it.   Instead there were lies and deciet, when you catch someone in a blatent lie then you keep looking to see what else he is lieing about - human behavior.

I learned this from one of the great Democratic rabble rousers that I have ever met.  The first Chinese/American to fly on AF one.  The first Chinese/American to head a national committee.   It goes on.  At his funeral, there were politicians from all over the US and some came from as far as singapore.   I do consider him an expert on politics.   He was powerful enough to wield enfluence over Chinatown in LA, SF and other locations, even though he was from a smaller town.

Although I am a devoute Republican, I do believe that just being honest and stating what happened and what you belive is the best policy.  Therefore I believe that Clinton shared some responsibility, as did All national politicians since the inception of time.   I also believe that misintrepretation of the Koran and then based upon that creating zealots is also part of the cause.

A truly smart guy would not. Clinton is smart. Ergo...

I never thought about that part of the scam. Wyrd, you are a genius. I already knew that Bush and Clinton were cooperating con men working the same scam, but it only now occurs to me that this was part of the preparatory drama. How ingenious!

Bill Clinton could have been a great President but he dropped the ball. I think it was the Govt. of Sudan that wanted to hand Bin Ladin over to our Country. Clinton refused to take him. He never took the terrorist threat seriously. He did nothing when the Trade Towers were bombed the first time.I also feel that he never had respect for the office he held. He wouldn't even salute the troops when he exited Air Force One. Ronald Reagon is a President that did respect the office. He never went into the Oval Office without a suit and tie on. Those were the days.

i wonder if monica is jealous of jennfer flowers or paula jones and vice-a-versa.

the year it took to impeach him was a year of leadership STOLEN from the people.

may the men who fried him remain UNBLOWN.  yikes.

WhiplashGirlChld -> RE: Did the Right Cause 9/11??? (8/26/2006 9:40:50 AM)

I think it's impossible to boil down 9-11 to something with a simple "cause".  Have no doubt that American arrogance had a lot to do with it, but this is not the exclusive domain of "the Right".

RiotGirl -> RE: Did the Right Cause 9/11??? (8/26/2006 9:55:10 AM)

You know, i hear alot about the conspiracy theories regarding 9/11.

Boils down to this.

If the government did engineer it all.. so what.  What are you going to do?  What difference will it make?  Are you going to start a revolution?  Does it really matter?

Reaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllly - what difference does it make?  It happened.

The only difference it seems to make.. is who you sit and hate and talk crap about.  I for one.. already talk crap about the gov.. so i dun really care if they did it or not.

ha

Sensible attitude, RiotGirl. [;)]

There is no other way around it Rule.

Knowing is not "half the battle" here.

Conspiracy or not, doesnt change a thing.  I think i actually wrote an essay or two on this very topic and how "knowing" doesnt do us a damn bit of good.

I think that whomever deposited our troops in the Middle East to make sure we got the  oil is responsible. I think our unwaivering support of the human rights violations that Israel has been responsible for is why we face terror. I think arming and training men like Osama is why Sept 11th happened. I think that it is corporate greed and no accountablilty  causes terrorism. I think we should let people decide for themselves how they want to live instead of projecting our values, lifestyle, and morals on them... I think this caused Sept 11th... but that is just me, and I could br wrong (although I highly doubt it)

No Justice, No Peace

The Right did not cause the war.  But is WAS their job to PREVENT one.

CrappyDom -> RE: Did the Right Cause 9/11??? (8/26/2006 2:11:29 PM)

It is an urban myth that the govern't of Sudan offered up Osama, http://www.9-11commission.gov/staff_statements/staff_statement_5.pdf

Considering how great a threat Republicans NOW see Osama as, it is amazing they give a free ride to Bush who was busy GUTTING counter terror agencies, budgets, and staff prior to 9/11!

Oh and Rich, I am stunned, I am not sure what to say other than I agree with every word of your post.

juliaoceania, i agree with you for many reasons.

i lost a brother in law in tower one when 9/11 happened and i know that the oil conglomerates (sp) are greedy bastards and only want the oil not what is in the best interests of the people there.

ok so maybe i am jaded because of losing a family member whom i loved dearly over there, but damnit all i say "Live and Let Live."

if people in Iraq, Sudan, Afghanistan (sp) want to live in poverty or have a dictatorship for government, then let them damn well have it that way.

if they want to have an improved lifestyle help them yes, but DO NOT dictate what should and WILL be done. give them the tools to do it themselves, help them learn how to use the tools to their advantage, but DO NOT go there and uproot them, kill the innocent women, men and children that had nothing to do with 9/11.

i say bring the troops home and leave those overseas alone to live their lives.

YES i do AGREE terrorism has to stop, but at what cost?

for every ten men and women that go over there, at least 3-5 will die if not more.........

personally i am SICK AND TIRED of LOOSING loved ones....

we kill the people we think are terrorists with no problem but what we don't stop to think about is this:

there have been more threats made, bombs going off, and more terrorists are still out there.

for every person we think is a terrorist and we kill they will kill more of us........

granted i live in Canada but i have family and friends in the States including my Master and i am tired of all this fighting........

it's time to tell the president of the united states ENOUGH, BRING OUR TROOPS HOME.

ok i'm done ranting here......... sorry but i had to say my peace about 9/11 because i did loose a loved one and it hurts like hell to see my friends and foster brothers going there and dieing, granted it is for our freedom but it still hurts like hell.

TIME TO BRING THE TROOPS HOME MR. PRESIDENT is what i say.
