I was curious as to how people feel about trances to relax you, and make suggestions, esp about bdsm/sexuality to your subconcious. Lately I've downloaded a few MP3 files to mixed results. I'm a submissive and have the idea was to relax & perhaps to deepen my mindset on certain aspects of submission/sexuality etc.

Music is a deep key to many mental states. Seek the sort that will serve as the overlay to the sorts of pathways that you wish to explore. I find that many new age instrumetal or electronic tunes work for me-then I string them together and burn tracks on cds.

I avoid ones with lyrics that will disturb my train of thought. The use of a trace state is to be able to shut down parallel trains of thought that interfere with the  primary you are focusing on in meditation. Keep working with your white noise until you can acheive that.

Personally I think its a great idea. I have been hypnotized by a gentleman who is in the lifestyle. Since his first time was meant to relax me and see if I could be hypnotized he did not do anything extreme with me..although it WAS a bit disconcerting to see my arm floating above my head at various points of the evening LOL.

I will say that being hypnotized was not what I thought it would be like. It was more of a hyper relaxed state than anything "subconscious". I was totally aware of what was going on around me at all times. I would definitely be interested in experiencing it again. Just one piece of advice though. If you are going to let someone hypnotize you make sure he is reputable.

I would absolutely love to play around with hypnosis.

I'd actually love to learn it. But to be hypnoties just makes me think of that out of your own natural control.
The things I crave. Just be helpless. Cause when your a big guy stronger than majority of people you give control away. I think It would be much better to have it taken away, of course trustingly, but still to feel weaker than that person.

I think being aware and knowing how to center yourself and be calm is a great skill for everyone.

But I'm not sure whyyou think it will "deepen your mindset."  I think your expectations are a bit too high for something that's going to take a bit more introspection and work on your part.

One thing to remember is that if given something to do, which in your conscious state, you would not do, you will not do it under hypnosis either. An interesting concept of hypnosis is the the post hypnotic suggestion.  The possibilities are absolutely endless.  But again, no suggestion will be valid if it's something that the subject would not do normally!! I'm thinking a suggestion that if a specific phrase is used the the subject will become sexually excited.  This could lead to some interesting scenarios  [image]http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys2/16.gif[/image] AD

Mp3s could work to get you to relax, but they would be useless for hypnosis.

Just remember there can be as much damage done with this kind of play as any physical type, make sure 1. the person knows WTF they are doing and that 2 the person is someone you trust messing around with your brain.

Personally, i don't think i could be hypnotized.  And the closest i've come to a 'trance' like state... was when He once smacked my head a bit harder than He intended and i was dazed for a bit.  i would love to try hypnosis, but i just don't think it's possible for me, for whatever reason.

I have reached destinations of inner peace, relaxation and self discovery through journeys into deep orgasmic states, where I crawled into the dark and hidden spaces of my spirit and explored.

I have been hypnotised once, with wonderful effects, although I was not able to achieve that a second time.

Yoga is also a method with which I have found success.  To free one's mind and body enough to allow tainted energy to flow out while new energy enters can bring about a state of peace and inner balance. When practicing Yoga, I always returned to myself feeling grounded and steady.

The idea for me has always been "openness."  To remove road blocks, even temporarily, and allow the mind, body and spirit to attain an open avenue by which energy, thoughts, feelings, and balance can flow readily, and be renewed.   This is a feat not easily achieved, and I admire those who can accomplish this regularly.

The great irony if letting go is getting more than you can handle :)  The universe loves to bonk me on the head with that lesson repeatedly (of course the fact that I keep forgetting the lesson doesn't help).

Is it really more than we can handle though?  After all, we are still here, aren't we?  :)

I do know what you mean, though.  I have certainly received my share of overload (and an occasional bruised skull).  And yet we perservere and become better for it.

Really?  At least several thousands of people will disagree with you on that one.  You can feel free to visit http://www.warpmymind.com to verify the veracity of my previous statement.

Excellent rules to follow whenever anyone, at any time, is messing with your mind in any way, shape, or form!

Have you ever pulled up to a light that just turned red.. found yourself beginning to imagine a time.. some time in the past.. where you are really enjoying yourself..  and you hear a honk from the vehicle behind you because the light turned green as you sat there?

One time a few years ago I mentioned to my fiddle teacher that after learning a certain song we had been working on that I had played it perfectly and that "it was almost like I was in a trance when I played it perfectly and it just came to me with no effort at all."
She said, yes, exactly, that's what it's supposed to feel like!"
