For all those into puppy or kitty play..........

lol j/k!!

Actually.  Be Ware of the Harts medication.  Tried to kill my cat!  Normal dose.. normal cat.  Stuck it on her.. and she was fine and fine and fine.. until well i noticed she wasnt fine.  Twas acting just funny.  Like there were ghosts or something around and she was dodging.. i dunno.

So i threw her into the bathtub and washed her neck.. cos well it seemed logical!

And right after that.. the convulsions started.. Spasms.. something.  Nervous system.. Everything was "jumping" on her.  Bah!  Even her little head!  So of course i rush her to the ER and i beg her on the way to just hold on cos we're almost there.

She made it and after talking to the Vet.. its common with the Harts medication.  Not the operator error, but the Harts stuff just seems to get some massively bad reations.

Oh and if you dun take em to the hospital.. they die.  Cos it just gets worse and worse..

But she made it!  And her personality changed, and she stopped being such a biatch and started being very loving.. awwwwwwww

the formula in flea medication had changed a number of years back. the good stuff it seems was taken off the market.

[this from a groomer friend of mine]

I had a similar bad reaction with that stuff. I used it on Otis and he got...wiggy! There were no spasms and when I washed the stuff off, he eventually settled down. I also had a problem like this with another cheap brand. I was trying to save money by buying stuff that was alot cheaper than what the vet was selling. Guess I should have stuck with the product I knew.

My vet said it's very normal in cats to have that reaction to any OTC flea medication, but it doesn't seem to affect dogs that way.

Well done pahunkboy, and thanks! I was just about to post that link myself.

Crap flea collars: Hartz, Zodiac, etc
Better stuff: Revolution, Frontline, Advantage (what I use on my two girl kitties)

Pets are a responsibility and there's no point in trying to skimp on the expense - you're only hurting your beloved family pet (and I mean the cats and dogs you perverted freaks!).

I plead ignorance! My kitties are both indoor units, so I don't have much expertise at buying anti-pest stuff. Lesson learned, though. The one time I strayed from my "spare no expense" policy, we got burned.

It's not you guys and gals that are at fault - what some of those pet suppliers let out the door is criminal. Hartz and Zodiac gotta go on the shit list...

i plead ignorance too!  I had NO clue that they had stuff that could make the babies sick!

It also ended up being more expensive in the long run.. catheter.. IV.. muscle relaxers.. injections..

Tho i dun regret the added expense.  Least she's alive!

Thanks for the link.. cos well i'm still like PISSED.  i mean like HOW dare.  i swear i'd throw up a law suit if i thought i could win.  We should start a revolution to put Hartz out of business!  Something should be done!

Interesting.. i saw mentioned about reporting it to the EPA and if enough ppl do it, they'll force Hartz to pull the products..
