ORIGINAL: Steelriven I know... this subject has probably been convered many, many times. But I just gotta know... Has anyone ever had a piercing done, took it out, have it heal a little but always itch? Lemmie explain... I pierced my cartaligde(SP?) on my ear. Waited nine months before changing the stud to a ring. It got infected, and I had to take out the ring, and let it heal. There's still a hole half way through the skin, but sometimes it just itches like a hell! It can't STILL be healing, can it? It's been over nine years. Is it a bad idea to re-pierce the same spot, if there's already a hole half way through? Hehe, I want to get my tongue re-pierced. I've removed (and generally had redone) nine or ten, but none in cartilage. Cartilage does take much longer to heal than softer tissue; for some people a hole in cartilage never completely closes. It is possible that a bit of scar tissue inside the old piercing is causing the irritation. As for repiercing; consult a reputable piercer is likely the best advice. Tasha
