Don't you realise that chicken can be addictive ? It tastes just like chicken you know (if you are lucky).

Yes, that is metaphorical.

Emperor,

Part of the problem is the story is poorly written and vague.  That said, the militaries of many SA countries are poltical entities in their own right, the navy, air force, and army all having their seperate agendas from each other and at times the country as a whole.

I agree that this PARTICULAR bit seems to be the Chavaz govn't fucking with us to gain points.  However, this is also exactly how we DO do cloak and dagger stuff.

As an example, say we denied these parts officially (which we didn't) but a "friend" snuck them in to gain trust of some colonal (why is it always colonals anyway?) and give him some cloat at the same time, all in preperation of setting up our NEXT coup attempt (you do realize we helped with the first one right?)

I think this is a case of a reporter who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground getting all excited over the words "explosive" and "rocket motor" and thinking we are smuggling in missles and then others getting caught up in it.  I don't blame them and I don't blame Venezuala for being paranoid.

Chavez is only able to rail against us because Bush makes such an easy target and we have acted so badly recently, that people can and do believe anything.  I mean having a sitting US president publicly advocating torture doesn't exactly set a high bar!

There are talks and visits going on in South America between their armies and ours.

Our military uses commercial flights....maybe it's connected somehow.??  Maybe not.

Perhaps part of the reason it sucks to live in other places in the Western Hemisphere is because Americans just can't let people run their own show and have to undermine freedom because of standards like the Monroe Doctrine... we think we own all of this hemisphere and should call the shots, no matter how many death squads we have to train, like the the School of the Americas....

No...the reason why it sucks to live in other places is because things are NOT like in the US-  there is no respect for the rule of law and because there are dictators that murder and torture and corrupt politicians that steal.

..."death squads"...  ha! ha!  that's a good one for the I-hate-America book of phrases- it sounds terrifying!

Maybe you should get out more, it does wonders for broadening your horizons and understanding why people hate US armed death squads.

LTR,

The TSA is an AMERICAN agency, it uh doesn't have authority in VENEZUALA!  The explosives had already left the plane, the issue was bringing them into the country, not in flying with them.

I would explain more but that is enough I hope to get you back on the right track.

(Allright...that could possibly change my thinking on the subject)

OK, Hugo Chavez Frias is never going to obey us, not with the support of those fucking people down there. I say we go in and do an Iraq job on them.

We can't have this, this is a serious threat to us. What if they raise the price for a barrel of oil ? Few years ago they supplied I think like 11% of US oil. Do you know what would happen to gas prices ? If 11% of our oil raised by a dollar a barrell, gas would go up by at least $1.50 a gallon. All their fault, not the oil companies.

How dare they fuck with us like that, bomb them back into the stone age. How can anyone be so stupid to not realise just who is running the world ? This is therefore a threat to national security, and must be dealt with. As soon as we can pull some troops from the 100+ military bases around the world we need to dessimate that shitty little country and get on with our business of buying consumer goods.

Incidentally, when most people think of oil they think gas, diesel, heating oil, but what you are typing on is almost completely made of petroleum (petroleum=oil). .

Plastic, a major component of everything you buy is dependant on oil to exist. Without oil there would be less TVs, computers, video games, cars, air conditioners. See there is alot more money involved than just gasoline (petrol or benzine), oil is used in so many ways it would make your head spin.

Eleven percent is no chickenshit amount, we need to control that country, but until they pose a threat to Israel, they are OK. Posing a threat to us is no problem, we are expendable. Go enlist in the army, we need you.

As stated in another thread, I might be a bit salty because of the political ads running now which address absolutely nothing worth even discussing. Fuck them.
