There is too much flaming going on around here, you would think that we are all adults....I stay away from those threads.

Yeah sure sure...But you got no problem sticking that ass in everybody's face. :)

What ass?  :)

Feline, it was not my intention to say that you said anything about the person's race or ethnicity. I apologize if that was the impression I left.

I wish you posted in the Gorean forum.

I think everyone reads things their own way, so maybe you are reading everything in a negative light.

Then again I am a happy go lucky optimist :)

No, I really don't view things as negative. There is a big difference in interpreting something as negative than there is in actually having an outright attack made on someone. Calling someone a waste or some such nonsense can really only be taken one way unless there is an obvious intent at humor.

Why would you like me over on the Gorean boards? Just curious because I am not really into that. Not that there is anything wrong with it, it just doesn't seem like it is for me.

No He's not.  i scarcely could stand the forums when the immigration/bigot thing was going on, and it seems it's not over yet.  i've been around long enough to see the forums cycle; there's not the intellectual sort of discourse or wry humor as there once was, IMO.  Perhaps it will return in due course.

Ok.  I take back what I said earlier on this thread.  It does indeed look like a nasty trend.  Seems like a thread can't get started lately without it dissolving into something messy.

(fast reply)

I've been a member here longer than I've been actively posting on the boards, but I'd agree.

What bothers Me is that there seems to be a lot of people willing to stop in and weigh in negatively, then argue back and forth when others have different opinions. Everyone has a right to express their thoughts here, but if something is so bothersome or annoying, why bother to post to the topic in the first place? Just avoid it and ignore. There are many discussions that I pass right by just because I don't feel I have anything of value to add or because the subject matter doesn't appeal to Me. That doesn't mean I stop in for hell's sake to lambast the original poster.

There's a discussion I peeked at today in which there seemed to be two camps: the 'harsh reality club' and those viewed as 'coddling bleeding hearts'. It became a back-and-forth in and of itself. I logged off without writing anything, as I'd fully anticipate a flame and don't feel like arguing.

I see no need for 'abrasive' responses, but it seems there are plenty that feel it worthwhile to share them. I see no reason why a point-counterpoint discussion cannot take place, but posts are nitpicked for the smallest detail and insults are unfortunately too common within absence of points left to make. Less discussion at that point, more argument. Meh.

I expect My post count to stay fairly low here considering the climate lately.

JMO.
