MistressTheaZ -> RE: A Nasty Trend or What I Posted Today on CM (9/4/2006 5:57:51 AM)

(fast reply) I've been a member here longer than I've been actively posting on the boards, but I'd agree. What bothers Me is that there seems to be a lot of people willing to stop in and weigh in negatively, then argue back and forth when others have different opinions. Everyone has a right to express their thoughts here, but if something is so bothersome or annoying, why bother to post to the topic in the first place? Just avoid it and ignore. There are many discussions that I pass right by just because I don't feel I have anything of value to add or because the subject matter doesn't appeal to Me. That doesn't mean I stop in for hell's sake to lambast the original poster. There's a discussion I peeked at today in which there seemed to be two camps: the 'harsh reality club' and those viewed as 'coddling bleeding hearts'. It became a back-and-forth in and of itself. I logged off without writing anything, as I'd fully anticipate a flame and don't feel like arguing. I see no need for 'abrasive' responses, but it seems there are plenty that feel it worthwhile to share them. I see no reason why a point-counterpoint discussion cannot take place, but posts are nitpicked for the smallest detail and insults are unfortunately too common within absence of points left to make. Less discussion at that point, more argument. Meh. I expect My post count to stay fairly low here considering the climate lately. JMO. ~Thea
