I find its best not to try and fit your ENTIRE personality into your profile. Just a few catchpoints, what you think is the most interesting things about yourself and what you are looking for. Everything else comes with time. I've chatted wit h more than a few people who had KILLER profiles that i thought I would get along smashingly with, turned out we had almost nothing in common. On the other hand, I've chatted with people whos profiles seemed almost exactly opposite from mine that have turned out to be great friends and playpartners.
Also, yes I DO ask for pictures from anyone who writes to me that is interested in serving under me. I don't feel that this makes me a "self-obsessed bitch". I just like to see who I am talking to. Also it helps to function as a screen against those who can't or don't read profiles. It says to include a picture, and if you don't, or don't write a good reason WHY you didn't, I know you didn't bother to read.
