Is it me , I've noticed lately a large increase in new people finding this site, most are younger which is not a problem it is a good thing. The increase makes me wonder how many are here because Yahoo shut down the user rooms. There is good and bad in the this, the good-many new people or hopefully open minded people, the bad-many are posers and now we all need to be even more careful when chatting, never know how "real" they are. This world we live in is double sided, basically do as I say not as I do and opening up to a poser might land us in trouble. Our patience levels will be pushed to its limits. Good luck to all. Borch

I'd been on CM for awhile on the "seeking" side, but yes, I began using the CM forums as a substitute for the conversation I used to get over in Yahoo Chat. I was very active in some of the user-defined rooms and miss them a great deal (many established groups simply dispersed and people fell out of touch). Bulletin board-style posting is very different from live-chat, but I appreciate having this outlet for discussion. checks to see if she's really a poseur in disguise... ~Holly

I used to go into the Yahoo chat rooms too but they went to shit the last few years! Late at night the Paki guys would try to chat you up and the cam whores would be popping up constantly.

Then you should go ahead and thank all the other crap sites out there that people get sick of or canpay for anymore for the flux in people that come to this site. I know yahell sucks....I know it sucked in the past, but I'm darn sick of hearing people bash it. Yes, there are fuckwads that come from it, but the majority of people interested in bdsm that come or came over from yahoo were -genuine- lifers or people truly interested in the lifestyle like myself. That's how I got my start so I will NEVER knock the user rooms from yahoo because I have a ton of genuine and lovely friends that I have made there.

LMAO at Benji. That's classic. Just classic. I have to say I didn't come here directly from yahoo, but yahoo certainly has been one of the stops along they way. I think its all to the good. Fresh blood and all. When I was on yahoo, yes I noticed a great number of "fakes" and such, but I think anyone who is willing to make the move from a "general interest" site like yahoo where its easy to surf from bdsm rooms to lolita rooms to men masturbating on cam rooms to Collarme, a site dedicated solely to bdsm, is definitely showing that they have a genuine interest in the lifestyle. Just my opinion. shrug

I don't know how real you are just as you don't know how real I am. Who is to judge to begin with? How do you know people on collarme are real? Read the boards almost all of the time there is someone here complaining about people being completely unrealistic in their searches. For those people, those unrealistic people are not real. Yahoo was just as real as anyplace else on the net. Which you need to take at face value. I haven't frequented chat rooms for a good ten years on any regular basis. I was in a collarme chat about 2 years ago. I stayed approximately 20 minutes because I deemed most of them not real. To each their own, what you deem fake some may deem real.

While it's certainly possible that the yahoo thing has contributed, I wouldn't make any assumptions in regards to new people who happen to be young. I myself am young and have never at any point used the yahoo chats. I also appear to be new, but that's only because I've been on here before under a different identity and felt the need for a new one.

I'm here because of Yahoo, but not because the rooms shut down. I became interested in D/s when a couple of people I chatted with introduced me to the concept and I became interested. I did not find Yahoo chat rooms to be a very good place to meet people in real life, only chatting, so when I decided to "step out" I came here. But I'm happy to thank Yahoo anyway.
