In May, Philips Norelco launched a campaign for the Bodygroom, a $35 electric shaver designed to remove hair "below the neck." One can only imagine the squirming that went on at Philips' buttoned-down Stamford (Conn.) headquarters about how to, um, position this product.

Ad agency Tribal DDB created a Web site (shaveeverywhere.com) where a guy dressed in a white bathrobe describes the surprising uses to which Bodygroom can be put. Naughty words are bleeped as pieces of fruit resembling certain male body parts pop onto the screen. The clincher: the promise of an "extra optical inch." Guys loved it. Visitors spent 6 1/2 minutes on the site on average and madly forwarded it to friends. For eight weeks following its May 2 launch, the shaver was No. 1 on Amazon's health and personal care category.

Has anyone here actually used this?
If so, how smooth is the shave?

Humbly,
Master's dorei

I'd be interested to know if women can use it.

That ad was great!

I would like to know if women can also although i can't think of a good reason why they could not.

That ad was the funniest thing i've seen all week.

I have one of these (although a different brand that was about $20).

Depends on what you want.  For trimming, it was ideal - there are various attachments to control length.  For a smooth shave however - not so good - better to stick with a razor.

OMG that ad was priceless!

I haven't seen the ad but it sounds like a very smart marketing plan.

Small shavers, usually called beard trimmers, have been around a long time.
They can be had for as little as $5 if you look around.
My current model is small enough to fit in the palm of my hand and runs
on a AA battery. it's kinda egg shaped and could double as a vibrator in
a pinch.

$20-$35 is a bit rich for my frugal Scottish blood. So shop around.

edited to ad: Just viewed the commercial on Amazon. Cute
The angled head is the only diference from a beard trimmer and
since I don't have excessive hair anywhere I don't need that feature.
I'm happy with my 5 buck beard trimmer. hehehe
