It's the nature of the beast, and I am proven correct time after time in this. My cynicism is reserved for people at large, not my proven intimates." Nearly word-for-word, this comes straight from a textbook description of someone with paranoid personality disorder. I can't say anything about Homestead since I have never met the man. quote:
Most people need love. People who are satisfied with their own love are narcissists. It is quite normal for people to need others Someone take that damn book away from him or teach him to use it properly. - Selfishly or callously calculating: showed a cynical disregard for the safety of his troops in his efforts to advance his reputation.
- Negative or pessimistic, as from world-weariness: a cynical view of the average voter's intelligence.
- Expressing jaded or scornful skepticism or negativity: cynical laughter.
I am not at all negative or pessimistic. I find the good in almost any situation. However, I do not take things at face value. I look for the actions behind peoples words or the facts to a story. That is why I consider myself cynical. I am also skeptical as to others motivations in general. This does not mean on an individual basis this is always the case. Speaking in generalities though, is much different. I am not unhappy. I am very happy and content with my life. I think everyone is at least worth knowing. Everyone has someone something to teach us...good, bad or otherwise. That doesn't mean I like everyone I meet. But if you are open to it, there is always something to be learned.
