It's almost time and I am sooooo excited! I know that sounds really weird to be excited about major surgery but I can finally see the light at the end of this tunnel. The Doc has said that I am sufficiently recovered enough to be able to withstand being cut in half again...lol. They have scheduled me for the 12th.  I will finally be able to get back to my regularly scheduled life!!! YAY!!!!

I had my colon rupture and had to have major surgery back in March. I am going in to have everything put back in it's proper original places.

LOL...yeah I know, sounds kind of old fashioned doesn't it? No more living vicariously through the tales of others...in just a few more short months I can go back to work, socializing, dating, hiking, hunting and all sorts of other physical activities(weg).....and last but certainly not least..... getting my own ass beat!

I can understand your excitement..to be able to do so many things again that you've been deprived of. I'd be excited too.
Here's hoping your doctor excells, as never before, on the day of your surgery.

Thanks everyone. I really am excited....nervous too as it is a major procedure. I'm not looking forward to being so "down" again...but at least this time I kind of know what to expect. The hospital part will be the worst of it...hopefully I won't need to be there as long as the average length of stay which they tell me is about 10 to 14 days. I always try to push to get that part over with as I know that once I get home I will be able to rest much better. No one poking me for blood at 4 am here..lol. Anyway, thanks for all the kind thoughts.

I would imagine that it would be exciting to know what lies ahead after the surgery.... get the surgery out of the way... and then you can be on your merry way to doing whatever you want to do, without people poking at you.

Be well.

Well there are many ways this can happen Feline...bowel obstruction and colon cancer to name a couple. In my case it resulted from a combination of a complication of a previous surgery and my own procrastination. I just kept saying "I don't have time to be sick right now" and "it'll go away if I just ignore it" and "it's not serious enough to see a doctor". Pretty soon the colon can't take it anymore and just pops or disintegrates. My advice....DON'T ignore tummy troubles.
