Even though my profile says I joined in 2003 I believe it was actually 2002 when I joined... just prior to my move to Tampa.

So based on that I would say it is at least 4 to 5 yrs old.

I think 4 or 5 years is about right. I can remember the days when there was no message board here, and we had to walk 15 miles to get to one.

Will you stop about the whales ? I have never killed nor bought a whale, I have no use for them and my freezer is way too small.

That is correct... no message boards in the beginning. I've noticed that the older crowd with their original names pretty much all share the same date for this side of the site 1/1/2004 (are there any that are older?)

I also recall doing an open search members living in Florida... it came back with like 60. I then did a search for all states & I believe it came back with less than 700.

I wasn't sure if this site was going to be able to keep up with other sites... then b com went to being a pay site & this one took off like wildfire. I'm glad it did... I feel this site surpasses the other ones out there I have been on.

One thing that was cool in the beginning too, was that every day there was something new added to the site. You never knew what you would find when you logged on.

It was here before then. I was in a chat over thanksgiving dinner in 2003 and a friend of mine from BR mentioned the site. That is how I found it. Long after he went back home and I was thinking about some of the things we discussed that holiday.
So, I don't think a long time prior but it was here prior to 2004

sub4hire... my first post on this thread, I mentioned that it was at least 2002 when I opened my account because I know I created my profile before I moved to Tampa & that was Oct 2002 even though it shows a 2003 join date on the other side. So somewhere between July 2002 & October of that year is when I first found out about this site & it was very new at that time... not many users at all.

My 2004 comment was about the forums date that is listed, yours shows the same date as mine... the site didn't have message boards at first but I believe the boards started before the date listed here on our message board profiles (1/01/2004)... I'm thinking that this time stamp may have been automatically added to our forum profiles somewhere along the way because I have never noticed an older date than this.
