I am aware with all the new year resolutions that weight loss and fitness are at the top of the list, however, I am curious to know who in the lifestyle considers a fitness regimen most important not only for the beginning of the year but at all times..

As for me in discovering the lifestyle a little over 2 years ago, fitness became important to me like never before. I became more aware of my body and in the quest to be the best I can be in mind, body and spirit, fitness goals also became a part of my life.

There are may reasons fitness and the lifestyle correlate together. In the lifestyle, heavy scening can mean a greater endurance than a nilla bedroom; therefore one should consider being the in the best possible shape.

I read an article once, that bdsm was much like weight training. Feeling pain, pushing limits, and seeing rewards. Food control would also be a part of that discipline. So there are many ways these two things can interact. (If anyone else has seen the article, please forward to me the place of origin...would love to keep it for future reference)

Another reason that it became so important to me aside from the fact of living a long flogging life, is pride. Pride in myself and the pride of the Master, who shall one day own me.

Still on my journey to become the classiest, sexiest, sluttiest submissive.

Would love for you to share your opinions and views on this.

Respectfully,
Willing2serve1

I have always considered fitness very important no matter what lifestyle a person pursues. Having been a professinal tennis player and having an MS in Physical Education it has always been a part of my life. However, when i had to quit tennis due to a bad knee about 7 yrs ago, about the same time i learned to use the internet, i did slack off on my exercise and gain weight, most of which i lost last year. Now i have to make an effort to exercise because i can't do all the sports i used to enjoy.

I feel health and excercise are important no matter what kind of lifestyle you choose.

And let's face it, in a discipline where many consider people from a more objectified stand point, looks and the shape you are in DO matter...(whether they want to admit it, for fear of getting flamed, or not.)

From my standpoint I do excercise and watch my diet, just because I'd like to live out my full span...Rather than blow up to 350 pounds and keel over from diabetes or a heart attack. I also feel better, and have more energy than when I was heavier.

So from either standpoint, Dom or sub, I look at it this way...Are you "taking care of the property"?

If you aren't, poeple WILL tend to wonder why,and what other issues are linked to it.

I'm probably getting off on a tangent here, but my favorite fitness activity is cycling and I think it is a sport for masochists (though otherwise I wouldn't define myself that way). At the elite levels they must have a huge tolerance for pain -- how else could Tyler Hamilton ride a whole Tour de France with a broken collarbone and finish fourth? Another guy named Perez rode about 2 weeks in the Giro d'Italia after crashing and knocking out his front teeth. It is common in interviews to hear them refer to the suffering, and you would think the race organizers are sadists if you've ever seen the Paris-Roubaix race when the racers who are completely covered in splattered mud are bouncing over the cobbled roads.

Of course, I am no where near their level, but where I live it is damned hilly and when I'm climbing I have plenty of time to wonder what is wrong with me that I can't find something more enjoyable to do with my time.

It is well known on this forum that I am awaiting a heart transplant.

I never weighed 350 pounds, but I was heavier than I am now, and I have been a Diabetic from birth. After 5 heart attacks, my heart is just too weak to carry on.

Take your resolution seriously, get back in shape, if you think you are fooling someone with your bad health habits, you're right, you are fooling yourself.

My hope in this new year is that my new heart becomes available, and I can go back to being productive, and healthy.

Dread,

Thank you for the kind words.

I am enrolled in the New England zone of the United States Health &Human Services Organ Donation Network. My registration number is 2104547.

Heart transplant donations are a bit different than other organ donations. The heart does not have a shelf life, it must be harvested, and placed within a 4 hour window. The country is divided into zones, and then each zone has a specific group of hospitals that can receive hearts.

While I appreciate the offer, and the sentiment in which it was given, a heart cannot be willed to a specific person, if it were, I think the murder rate might go up a bit!

What you can do, and everyone else that chooses to be a donor should do, is make your family aware of your wish to be an organ donor. There are many states that even if you check organ donor on your license, if your family is not aware, or they decide not to, your organs cannot be donated. Organ donation is very tightly monitored to prevent people that may have better resources from receiving an organ that may be needed by someone less fortunate.

My home state of Rhode Island last year just passed a law that makes the organ donation listing on your license, part of a state register of organ donors. If you are on the list, your family cannot overide your wishes. Check with your state, if the law is not in place, make sure your family knows your wishes.

There is absolutely nothing fun about waiting for a transplant, all I truly have is hope that this heart will last until I am given what I consider a second chance at life.

Here is a link to the official site
www.organdonor.gov

If you want to be a donor, you should get a card like this, keep it in your wallet, if you die and your family cannot be contacted immediately, this card will allow the harvesting of your organs, and the chance for other people to benefit from them.

Each day about 70 people receive an organ transplant, but another 16 people on the waiting list die because not enough organs are available.

That is the end of my public service announcement, I take you back to your original program which is continuing in progress!

I was told something once that has stood out in my mind since. "If you can't take care of yourself how am I to believe that you can take care of me?" So, it has become a way of life. I feel much better, look much better and my mind set is better.

Take care,

Yes willing2serve, that is on my list of this to do, and I am beginning at a slow pace.

It is not that I have a weight problem, but rather, I had a herniated disk in my back, I got a spinal epidural and now want to strengthen my abs in order to keep my back healthy.

I am also at an age where if I don't start an exercise program, I fear it won't be long til my body starts letting me know!

Plus there is a new interest in my life, and the first time I meet Her I want to look my best.

Good luck to you sticking with it...Be Well.

Best to you INSIDEYOURMIND...may your wait come to fruition soon...

Insideyourmind, Through all of your post I knew you were strong of heart. Your passions and beliefs have shown through. I had no idea that you were weak of heart physically. I sincerely send all my thoughts and hopes for a healthy brighter new year and your words should be an incentive for us all to live healthier and basically just to enjoy our blessings at each moment.

Respectfully,

ACTUALLY INSIDEYOURMIND

A person CAN specify a donation
being done in another persons name.
It does not mean that My particular
body part would go to you but that
you have been given a donation
towards your number, that is why I
asked for it. This is done and legal.
I am with in your 4 hour area.

Good luck Inside!

I've been a donor the day I got my drivers license, figure if they can pull something viable out of me to use as parts for someone else, all the better!

It's sort of morbid in some senses to say this, but I hope you get your heart soon.

This is where cloning would be SUCH an asset, alas.

i do agree that fitness is important for all domains of life. There are many reasons as to why its so beneficial to exercise, to keep or become in shape, including being able to handle those endorphines by a particular scene. But i am going to play devils advocate for a moment. *g* i also think its possible to be a BBW and be healthy as a horse, while still being able to withstand a good heavy scene. Now, i'm not promoting that one shouldn't be fit and exercise, but i feel that too much emphasis is placed on a person being in good health by looking a certain way or being a certain way. Back in November i under went physicals for my job and i was told by three different doctors that despite the fact that i'm slightly over weight, i'm in excellent health; my blood pressure is better than a teenagers. i do take care of myself and eat right, but i also can't resist my dark chocolate. Now if only i can get those nice scenes, i'll be doing great!!!! teehee
