But when you emphasise "that use the word", as opposed to administering the action, exactly where do you mean, if not the profile? Either you wanna hear only from those "that use the word" or it's irrelevant if a Dom uses it.... Ok, enough of the word play.... Surely all Dom/mes apply "strict" as a normal part of maintaining a D/s relationship or general dynamic.... What's the big deal about those "that use the word" (in their profile?) as opposed to virtually all other Dom/mes who practice it anyway? Some things just don't need to be said in a profile; they become redundant - in name at least.... But hey, this is a public board expressly for offering opinions, and I yousta "use the word", so who is more "Focus"(ed) than I? Focus.

You know, i could be wrong, but i think a lot of us bottom-siders hear "strict" as "having a lot of rules" and the top-siders tend to mean "If I only have one rule, don't ever think of breaking it." Some do have a ton of rules, some have very few, but almost All believe they are unmoving on the things They hold dear. (That's not always true though!) Inexperienced or not so great Dominants tend to have a lot more rules than They care to actually enforce, so the "strict" thing is all part of Their perception of what a Dominant should be, not what They actually are.

I don't identify with the word strict, but I've had people say that I am. Being strict means expecting a submissive to be consistent and accountable, and responding if the desired behavior isn't forthcoming. For example, if I ask someone to do writing for me and give it to me by Friday at 5:00pm, and it's 5:05 and I haven't gotten them, I'm going to respond. I'm not going to jump up and down, but I'm going to let the person know that I'm aware he hasn't kept his agreement. Strictness, in this case, means being aware of agreements a submissive has made and tightening up the response time between neglecting an agreement and my responding to it.
