I side with the rednecks, but then, I hate pompous asses.  I've done the same, but not quite that extreme (With a baseball bat - that's just stupid)

Besides, I would never steal a camera from someone who has spent an hour following me, has seen my license plate number, and is willing to smash my car in front of me.
