Hello, I'm trying to move to Rockville, MD asap. I'm looking for information on services in the area to assist me in this move. Like finding an apartment that accepts Section 8 housing. Charities or Churches to help with furniture if I leave most of mine here. That sort of thing. I already have the numbers for the VA to transfer my medical and voc rehab for school and the name of the school to check into it, and have a couple friends to stay with while getting into the apartment. But I would like to find one before I come so I know it's ready don't want to over stay my welcome.

Thank you anyone from there who can help would be apreciated.

I'm afraid I can't help you with anything specific, and Rockville isn't the cheapest place in the metro DC area, so if you can change your plans to live more in Prince George's County, I'd recommend it.

But there are definitely places you can get help from.

I am not familar with that area but the The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County has a list of properties that they own or manage, as well as other information which you might find of use.

Fredrick County is also far less expensive than you will find it to be in Rockville. If of course it is a viable option, you should look into something there. The metro runs out that way, and it's not too far out from Rockville if you care to drive. But anywhere in the metro DC area can be frustrating most of the time to navigate around in a car.
