LOL we were pissed about that part also.
To inform others, on Wife Swap, two mothers swap families for two weeks. The first week, the new wife must abide by the family rules. The second week, the new wife gets to create ANY new rules and the family must abide by them.
This week, a modern busy working mom was put into a household where they created a "middle ages household" with names, garb, rpgs, home schooling and the whole shebang.
When it came to her week to make the rules, she forbade ALL talk and mention of ANYTHING not modern and said that any time mention was made, one of their role play figures would be smashed with a hammer- and then smashed one to make an example.
People who know of them know just how much these can cost, both in the piece itself, but also all the time, paint, and effort put into it. They are artworks and would be as bad as if someone had shredded your kids artwork on the fridge- and a lot more pricey.
They give the moms a LOT of leeway on the show- they've bought pets for the kids, changed the layout of the house, sold household items and more. However, I do think actually destroying property is over the line.
The fact that we never actually see a piece get broken or even had the event mentioned again in the show leads me to think that maybe they didn't actually let that particular consequence stand.
