How all business phones should be answered: 

GOOD MORNING,
WELCOME TO THE
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

  Press "1" for English.
  Press "2" to disconnect until you have
                    learned to speak English.

I routinely get callers on my phone at work that launch into spanish. IT as if they assume the person answering the phone will be fluent in spanish, and they are genuinely surprised when they hear me say 'no habla espanol'

The problem with this is that, while English is still the predominant language (for now), it's not the official language.  There is no official language in the US, unfortunately.

i agree, one should make an effort to learn the language of the country they reside in...

did y'all hear about the philly cheesesteak place that makes their customers order in english?
