There is a site devoted to scamming those foriegn let me put my millions in your bank account right back and OMG they are funny.

I have no idea if they REALLY communicated back and forth, but it doesn't matter -those leters were a riot to read.

Wish I remembered the link.

Ok, with all this talk about yahoo. Exactly how do they get our e-mail address's in the first place to send us spam? Maybe I missed something. It is real late for me at the moment. I'm on my 22nd hour awake.
I run a list on yahoo. I rarely get those unsolicited e-mails though.
Primarily my lists are on topica. I just feel they are more user friendly.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I have never received any e-mail from collarme and I know for a fact my e-mail address has never been given out. Collarme has my work address and I've never even gotten a piece of spam yet.

Gloria,

At first I considered that my participation on collarme might be where people were getting my name to send me invitations, but then I realized/remembered that my email address isn't available on here for the very reasons you state. I threw that thought away as a possibility.

I wanted to get an idea if others were experiencing what I was experiencing (predominantly to try to determine if I was just experiencing yet another in a long, LONG history of attempts to contact me under assumed names by the aforementioned person). This is the easiest place in my current online partipication to get that feedback.

I haven't really gotten an answer to that question, and perhaps it was silly of me to think that I would. I have realized that the current influx of invites may be a bit unique to me, though. That's helpful.

Thanks for answering.

Thanks MizSuz,
With all the yahoo talk I was just curious. Currently on yahoo I am banned from my own group because my e-mail address has been bouncing. Yet, I know it has never been near full, but hey whatever they say.
They keep sending me the unbounce message with a dead link. I've written to support about it 4 times now. Of course they cannot be bothered like most support on sites to even read your e-mail to be able to give you help on the topic you asked for.
So, I'm locked out of my own list thanks to the yahoo gods.

Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing a sudden rise in Yahoo Group Invitations related to bdsm topics? In the last two days I've received three different invitations by people I have never heard of. When I inquire how they heard of me or why they decided to invite me I've been met with 1. A link to another message board with no information about the yahoo group on it; 2. No response at all; and 3. An abusive response from the invitee (quite vulgar, actually).

The reason I ask is because there is a nut on yahoo who regularly tries to fuck with me (the nut from the midwest that I've previously mentioned). Am I the only person experiencing this phenomenon?

possibly the reason is becasue yahoo kicked so many into hell late 2003?

the biggest WI related yahoo group that had a real life Munch attached to it, over 800 members, was kicked into yahoo hell!
members and BDSM folk in WI, esp SE WI scrambled to "fix" their profiles so they would not disappear and joined the WI Domsub group until the other reappered.

Now after a year, they are reappearing?????????

only shy's idea, whose strictly vanilla yahoo profile was eaten and cast into yahoo hell as well!!!

Gloria,

I liked topica, too. But we did experience a significant number of dropped posts while we were on there (one of the groups I am associated with) so the list owner took it back to yahoo. The truth is I have ALL of my yahoo groups set to read from the web. I just don't want all the email that they can often generate. It also affords me the opportunity to choose when I wish to participate (which isn't often).

I can appreciate how this could be difficult for a list owner, though. I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with yahoo, although not at all surprised.

Hope it works out soon for ya!
