I was wondering if anyone on here would possibly have links, recommendations, or books I could could read to learn more about Victorian and Old Guard lifestyles. Please post any information that you might have.

Just as long as you realise that they are worlds apart. The Victorian Lifestyl;e is based on the Victorian Period of Queen Victoria and really looks at the upper Middle Clasds through to and including the Aristiocratic folk. The life style has many protocols based on the social etiquette of the day and is an elegant lifestyle. You could read the book or watch the DVD of Sence and Sensibility. I'll leave others who understand the Old Guard to tell you about that .

Thank you porcelaine, for those links to the Victorian Lifestyle. I'm building up as much as I can to be able to teach interested people. For the Lifestyle period and not the BDSM or kink areas I do rely a great deal on my familly connections in Europe and the UK and their histories.

For other Old Guard viewpoints you might try searching the names Guy Baldwin, Viola Johnson, Jay Wiseman, Also try to get a copy of Leather Folk, by Mark Thompsom. Read a bit about the article that opened up the Old Guard in Life Magazine if you can find it (June 26, 1964). The Leather Archives and Museum mentioned already is a really good source

PBS did a mini series about the Edwardian Era called Manor House. I use the DVD's as a training tool in my house. http://www.pbs.org/manorhouse/ contains a bunch of information about the show and some of the history. There are books still in print from the turn of the century such as Mrs Beeton's Guide to Household Management, I think that was the official title, which explain how to run house and manage a staff and what each positions duties are.
