Screaming in excitment I found a job inteview tomorow it pays 13 dollars an hour and it pays you for training and if you complete the month of training you can get 2 thoughsand dollars. The only downside to that is that it's in rancho cordova which would be a 20 minute commute for me! and I'd make more than I am allowed to on ssI

Opens my window facing the US of A and bellows ..... SHUT THAT FUCKING SCREAMING UP!!! YOUR KEEPING THE KOLAS AWAKE EVEN!!!!

gooddogbenji -> RE: Screaming in excitement! (9/7/2006 3:20:31 PM)

The question is, what happens if you don't pass the first month of training?

Yours,

benji

FelinePersuasion -> RE: Screaming in excitement! (9/7/2006 3:31:23 PM)

Benji, it's very simple training I am quite confident that I will pass training.

gooddogbenji -> RE: Screaming in excitement! (9/7/2006 4:03:49 PM)

So why are they paying you $2000 for passing?

I'm just curious, because I'd take that job for a month to get paid a $2000 bonus at the end.....

Yours,

benji

ScooterTrash -> RE: Screaming in excitement! (9/7/2006 4:07:35 PM)

I drive 45 minutes to work...35 miles...it works better...you might be the last person they call to come in early.

FelinePersuasion -> RE: Screaming in excitement! (9/7/2006 4:10:38 PM)

Benji because paid training is a part of the job offer. If I get the job at the call center I'll be booking appointments for people, I'll have my own little computer terminal, You also pick up a little buisness skills and other skills during training and your working there.

Scooter, I don't drive so I'd have to take public RT, or the bus or get a commuters circle going. I'll worry about that if I get the job and transport becomes an issue. I could even ask on the local groups around here if any one would be willing to help out.

CONGRATS FelinePersuasion...all the best with the interview process.

stockingluvr54 -> RE: Screaming in excitement! (9/7/2006 4:45:59 PM)

I sure hope it works out for you...keep us posted?

Just be aware that some "sweatshop" outfits sometimes use these types of practices... They will pay low "training" wage....(bait you with big bonus)......you work for low wage thru training period...you don't get hired for whatever reason? They get work for low wage....don't have to pay all the extra because you're in "training" and basically nobody gets hired....win win for sweatshop

Not trying to burst bubble and I truly hope it works for you but I think Benji may have been hinting in this direction in a nice way....????? (correct me if I'm wrong Benji...and if I am..sorry)

Why is that people seem to think working at call centers is one of easiest things in the world?  Sure the job itself might be easy.  The people? ...no.   Plus, if you have the kind of job where you're fielding call constantly its easy to get stressed out.  Most of my shifts I was lucky if I got 3 seconds in between calls.  When you have a block of time like that all it takes is one to two people to ruin the rest of your shift.  I was always waiting for my manger to complain about me getting up and going to the restroom every 1 & 1/2 to 2 hours.  Had to catch my breath at some point!  I quit my call center job when they wanted to full switch me over to customer service.  The calls we get are fucking amazing sometimes... and they didn't pay enough for me to sit there for 7 hours and be abused by customers.

This place may end up being something great... but the high pay really has me raising an eyebrow.  Is $13 close to the average per hour income in that area?  Do you know what company you'd be working for yet?

Do update us, cause you have me really curious!

Actually you have to be hired first to do the training.  I believe anyway. most companies won't train you before they have even hired a worker.

Minimim wage is 6.75 an hour, so no it's not normal wages.  When I worked for Cutco Cutlery though I was payed 12 dollars per interview weather or not they bought anything. and I went on 5 the first week of my job alone, that was 60 dollars in my paycheck in one week alone.

I heard the name from their speal while I was on hold, but I don't remember, I'll find out all about the job tomorow when I interveiw.

Good Luck Feline....hope ya knock their socks off!

PrimitiveLogic -> RE: Screaming in excitement! (9/7/2006 6:41:36 PM)

As to SSI....be careful of your allowances and limits. My disabled daughter is on SSI, and what ever she makes over her alloment must be paid back or they reduce your allotment in short order. When she is physically and mentally able to actually work; she can only work 2 shifts a week at minimum wage. Just be cautious of time  and pay expectations. It is a bitch of a hassle keeping things straight.
Good luck in all your endeavors!

FelinePersuasion -> RE: Screaming in excitement! (9/7/2006 8:41:40 PM)

Thank  you for your well wishes every one! I am hoping very much I get the job.

Primitive, yeah SSI and working is a bitch to keep strait, but I am allowed a work trial to try out my ability to work with out loosing benifits no matter how much I make, as long as I tell SSI I am trying to work. And if they do reduce my SSI a little bit it'd be made up by the job I work.

stockingluvr54 -> RE: Screaming in excitement! (9/8/2006 8:56:36 AM)

let us know how it went...?????

MmakeMme -> RE: Screaming in excitement! (9/8/2006 3:40:00 PM)

Geez, sounds like a gold mine.

I commute for a living, basically, and don't always get paid for the work I do. Perhaps I'd better get to work on my charm ....................

FelinePersuasion -> RE: Screaming in excitement! (9/8/2006 4:54:12 PM)

I had the interveiw tolearn about the place today I'll do a second interview by phone in one to two days and I'll know then if I got the job!!!

bignipples2share -> RE: Screaming in excitement! (9/9/2006 3:54:10 AM)

ooo good luck. I hope they have an easy phone system for you. I remember one place I worked, I was passing by and the girl behind the desk asked if I could watch her station for her so she could run to the bathroom real quick. I figured, sure, watch the phones? Not a problem..omg, they had things like sending people out in orbit LOL I still have no clue what the heck I was doing, or who I sent out where. I was never so glad to run back to my office, shut the door and get lost in paperwork. Whew!
