This is sort of a game. It takes a minute or so to do per day. Make a country and run it by making choices on the issues that arise. Not terribly detailed or serious, but a bit of fun.

Fun! Saudi Terrorists have attacked, I'm invading Sweden! This is spooky

O this is such a cool site Kedicat, I have started the game.

IronBear -> RE: A little diversion of political nature (9/9/2006 7:09:22 AM)

kedicat, I'm off subject here, but the reason I didn't reply to the IM is because the other side is even slower than here and is taking me on average 20 minutes to have a post go through. I'll reply as soon as I can. (Here it just takes 10 minutes to get a post through)..

too funny topcat, we were just reading some of the motto's and giggling. Here I took the exercise seriously, think I will go back and create one for fun :)

My Nation is Zedi.
Not doing too badly.

The sun, rising over the pristine ocean throws its light on a new land and a new nation today, Bumfukia proudly joins an unready world.  Based on its slogan "Don't touch me there" it makes clear that while it bleeds like a liberal, it fights like a pissed off bitch on crack.

I'm dealing with the Kingdom of Two-Elephants.  I am told that our lands are well stocked with beaver.

lol.  I'm a democratic socialist.  The description of my country is spot on though.  I'm impressed.  I think I'm going to like this.

It's a perfect little country to get started.  I'll be totally amused if anyone guesses what the name means without cheating. [8D]

Read the Issues carefully and think of rational and irrational ( sarcastic ) ramifications. I have dismissed ones that just had no satisfactory choices. So far that hasn't had disastorous effects.

Reporters in Zedi who do not check there facts carefully are in big trouble. No propoganda allowed.

Alas I have lost the distinction of most foul mouthed children.

Never mind. Didn't work. I just realised that the thread name is too serious. I tried to change it a bit.

Kedicat -> RE: A little diversion of political nature (9/12/2006 11:24:38 PM)

By the way. I've read some reviews of the book and I think I'll have to read it and the new one.

I'm adding all your states to My dossier.

I think I've just overthrown myself

SirKenin -> RE: A little diversion of political nature (9/13/2006 11:24:35 AM)

Those issues can be a real challenge.  If you are serious about it it takes some time to put some serious thought into them.  I had the tax one today and it really made Me think.  I opted rather than squeeze the rich for more or make cuts to services I would give the public a choice where the money went.  I wonder how to find out what impact that has on My country?

Some new thing will be added to your nations description. Some stay for good, some come and go. The three main indicators change now and then. That option might backfire in some way. Things seem to interact quite a bit, but mysteriously. I'm not sure if there is a spot to get detailed info on your nation. It almost feels like the thing is working on a spreadsheet sort of system.
