Hello Everyone,

Can someone please tell me what to do?
I have been interacting with someone who has a profile here that
though investgation I have found the profile to be fake, the person
is not who they say they are.
I was messed with and I don't want any other people to be screwed
over by this person!

Thanks in advance.

stef,

I am really not that bothered by the incident,
but this person has the profile up here and I just don't want anyone else to get fucked with.
I am a lesbian and lesbian Dommes are few and far between, and that's what this man professes to be.

I would just hate to see someone younger and more naive person get sucked in by this guy.

It sounds like you're wanting post with this person's name to warn off people. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending how you look at the situation, that sort of posting is not allowed here.

You can point out the fraudulent individual to the mods here and leave the situation in their hands. Aside from that, there's not a whole lot else you can do.

Hello stef,

Nope, I did not desire to post this person's name, and I know that isn't allowed here.

I only interacted with this person for a few days, so it did not really personally effect me to any in-depth degree, Just wanted to do the right thing, that's all.

Thanks for your imput.

I guess I just don't understand what you're trying to do then. At first you said "I was messed with and I don't want any other people to be screwed
over by this person!" and now you're saying you want to "do the right thing."

What is "the right thing?"

I'd notify the mods. Also give them whatever proof you may have.
The mods will do the right thing.

I guess i don't know..

Maybe it is to say I don't really need to be "messed with" by you either.

I asked a question, and was a bit "ticked" rightly so may I add, but still asked the question with all sincerity as to hopefully not have any other sub have to trip along with this guy.

I'm just trying to figure out what you're hoping to accomplish. I gave you the same advice Gloria did, you thank her and get pissy with me. I guess no good deed goes unpunished.

Sorry I tried to help.

It seems to me that I did Thank you for your imput....and it was answered in a way that was, I felt purposefully sarcastic instead of helpful.

What you need to do, is exactly as sfgrrl has already stated. Report the offensive person to a moderator. The advice she offered you is certainly the best way to deal with that type of person.
i will add to her advice only in suggesting that you should also make use of the block option if you have not already done so. Blocking will prevent the offensive individual from initiating any further contact with you.

It's not likely that the younger people out there have cornered the market of naivety, or suckerability. We all know that the wannabes, trolls, losers, liars, pigs, & sickos exist. Many of us have run across these types, you are not the only one. It's nothing new & they are in existance anywhere, both online as well as offline. This IS an adult site, any adult who is registered here as a member, can and should be capable of fending for themselves and making sound decisions. They can also report anyone who is being offensive to a moderator as well as make use of the block feature. It's not as if they can crawl up through your monitor wire, pop out, and get you. Block them, and they "go poof, all gone".

i didn't sense any sarchasm in ~steph's reply. Perhaps you feel she has been sarchastic simply because the answer she gave you was quite straight forward and is simply just not the one you wanted? It leaves me wondering, what other solution would you hope to have been offered?

Quite simply...post the fake ID along with this brief explaination in every group in which you belong...and...if it is a yahoo ID...notify the powers that be there as well...that this ID is being misused. Oh, yes...you didn't bother to tell us?

... and she shouldn't. It wouldn't accomplish anything. Not everyone participates in groups, be it a Yahoo, an AOL or an MSN etc ect group. Even if everyone DID participate in the groups, most people who feel such a need to hide behind a fake indentity can do so quite easily, and many do use numerous and different IDs across the web. If they want to hide, it's not all that difficult to do so. It is far more productive to block, report and be aware. MOST IMPORTANTLY, posting the person's name here would be a violation of the Guidelines of the boards (and the post would be modified by a moderator, who will remove the name from the post) found at http://www.collarme.com/forum/Collarme%25com_Forum_Guidelines/m_72/tm.htm ... which state the following:
quote:

Do not post the names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. of yourself or others. If you wish to exchange such information or make inquires in this regard, do so privately.

It also states:
quote:

Considering the natural diversity of opinion and expression, it is expected that disagreements will often occur. While debate is fine, postings of the sort generally known as "flames" is not. Participants are not expected to coddle one another, but they are expected to keep things within the realm of maturity.

As well as:
quote:

Furthermore, harassment and personal attacks will not be tolerated.

And most importantly:
quote:

Any questions regarding this board should be sent to the forum's administration through the - Collarme.com Support - service. Please open your letter with - "Collarme.com Forum - Questions."

AGAIN, the right method of resolving the issue is reporting the offense.

quote:

and...if it is a yahoo ID...notify the powers that be there as well...

They will do absolutely nothing at all other than reply to you with a form letter in which they will advise you to add the person's ID to your Yahoo account's ignore list. It will have to be an absolute henious offense (IE: child porn, child molester, adult online attempting to meet a child offline ... etc) before any of the powers that be at Yahoo will intervene. Again, another example of blocking/ignoring provided as being the answer.

sfgrrl and Gloria is right, this you must report to the ones that run this site, if you want to. Just remember that i will probably happen again, Many pepole want to just have an erotic conversation and in stad of saying so, they lie in their profile. Also in your situation you are vunrabel, many men dream of lesbians so i can imagine some men claiming to be lesbians on any adult site. Deside if this one ofeded you enogh to bother doing anything, and if he did, contact the Moderators.

sterlingsweet,
I can feel your pain, it seems to be more the norm than the abnorm these days that our L/life via the web has attracted more than its share of "pretenders" and it is not only irritating but for some has become dangerous--many of us around the country are banding together to blast out the messages of safety and to tell others-- if you have been messed with, let someone know--there are ways both online and in person that pretenders/wannanbes can be marked and stopped--we do after all have one of the greatest networks---it is when we don't step up, that we could be risking the very life of the next person--stay safe

Stef,
If I may interject here. It is nothing against you either. However, you're a bit like Estring. You joke around a lot. Because we are online it is hard to judge what is real vs what is a joke.
As you already know I love the light heartedness you bring to the board's. It is just hard for some though.

I hope that makes sense.

That's very true.

Even after taking another look at what I wrote last night, I just can't see how it might be misinterpreted as anything remotely humorous. I realize that a lot gets lost in translation when trying to get a point across in this medium, so when I am joking, I try to make it fairly obvious for benefit of those lacking proper 'humor detection apparatus.'

This, however, was not one of those cases.
