boy43 -> Natasha...from Austria (9/9/2006 2:56:51 PM)

The past week apeared in all the news that a girl, Natasha 18 yo, runed away from her kidnapper that kept her for eight years in a "zulo" hidden in his own home. Following her escaping her captor rushed towards the railroad train and dead. All people found amazing finding tears in her eyes when hearing this, even knowing  that this is something he had said to her will happen if she go from him.
She was interviewed in a tv chanel that raised the highest audience in her country, in wich she apeard as a very mature girl, even being so young and after living such dramatic and hard to imagine experience (she was 10 when it happened).
One of the things she told was that he made her call him "amo" (Master)...
And my thoughts were fast conected with the lifestyle. I know We/we all understand the importance of the word "consensual", but the likeness of the model made me a bit uncomfortable. Do Y/you understand me?

Be well.

I saw this story on the news, and it was incredible. The young woman has tremendous strength to get through what she did.

And yes, consentual is a good thing. What happened to her was not consentual.

mystiquenz -> RE: Natasha...from Austria (9/9/2006 3:08:35 PM)

hello boy43,

i saw the headlines in our local paper, the day that the story broke.  No, in her situation, it was not consensual, and yes, bdsm, is consensual, a 10 year old child is not an adult, so how could it have been consensual ...

I understand you, but there are no suggestions, from the media reports that i have seen that the person was actually a lifestyler, maybe it was some kind of game, and he lost ... albeit, he took his own life, probably he saw that easier than facing authorities.  I am so pleased the  young lady is reunited with her family, and that maybe now, she will settle back into a normal life.  Albeit after such an ordeal, who knows what her normal will be.

Is there something that can be learned, from this?  Teach your children about stranger danger? ...

NastyDaddy -> RE: Natasha...from Austria (9/9/2006 3:15:11 PM)

This girl was 10 years old!... that flat out means "consensual" was not an option nor an issue.

Natasha was a juvenile kidnapped by a sick mind, period! Whether the sick mind who kidnapped her actually followed BDSM is insignificant. His definition of Master is splattered all over the front of the train.

I don't think possibly following BDSM was his motivation for jumping in front of a train.... that would be more like... oh shit, my ass is going to jail forever for kidnapping a 10 year old girl.

Casie -> RE: Natasha...from Austria (9/9/2006 3:23:12 PM)

I also saw this story. And yes consensual is very important and what happend to her was very wrong. However I do not beileve this man was a lifestyler nor a game player. I believe he was a mentally unhealthy man that did care even love this girl in his own twisted way. Does that make it right...most defintally not. I say this as someone who was breifly obducted as a child. Although my ordeal was much less tramatic and only lasted about an hour. I have learned to forgive the man because he was ill, and in his own fucked up way thats how he showed affection. Probably because he was hurt the same way as a child. Probably by someone much closer to him and many more times than once.

I think that you are hung up on the word Master, which any information I have read on this lifestyle says you have to consent to it, and at this age there is no legal consent... therefore it has no relation to WIITWD

Casie -> RE: Natasha...from Austria (9/9/2006 3:24:59 PM)

To add on to my comment I think there were many reasons he killed himself and being in legal trouble was only a small part. Obviouslly this was not a saine man.

Casie -> RE: Natasha...from Austria (9/9/2006 3:30:57 PM)

"The teenager said that she had occasionally been allowed out of the cellar and had been receiving schooling from her captor, and was able to read and write. Asked why Natascha had not tried to escape in the past, Herr Zwettler said she appeared to have had “Stockholm Syndrome” — a psychological condition in which long-held captives begin to identify with their captors. "I think this shows he cared for the girl in some way otherwise he would not have basically home schooled her

Yeah, like Kathy Bates cared for James Caan....... [:o]

Casie -> RE: Natasha...from Austria (9/9/2006 3:45:01 PM)

I'm just simply sayign this man is not alive to hear or possibly know the kinds of things that went on in his head. The girl wasn't beat or starved and he made sure she was educated. So there is some signs there that he did care I'm in no way saying that he was in the right I'm saying it is very likey he was mentally ill and should have been lock up in an institution. There are much worse people in the world. Much worse crimes against childern this kind of thing is happening by the masses in thailand. And people from all over the country go there to buy the childern for a couple hours and they are not educated nor well taken care of. I don't think people should be so hung up on one incident that happens so often in much worse situations!

Of course, Casie.

I didn't mean to say you thought it was okay, Casie. Now, I'm not sure about her treatment... did he not regulate her food to try to keep her at the weight she was at when she was kidnapped? And there may have been sexual abuse, although the authorities aren't saying at this point, and he did threaten her life.

Then I would assert that there were many more previous trains he could have splattered his definition of Master on...

Why did he only elect to opt out of the world after his kidnap victim (at 10 years old, now 18) ran off down the street towards her freedom, and his knowing that he was facing absolute and imminent changes in his sick little world?

Grimaces remembering that movie.

Regarding the sick bas*ard, he probably killed himself just in images of being a captive himself.  Much easier a live than he gave that little girl.
