Status: offline 		This morning while setting up a day timer with carolyn to help her become more organized, we hit on something that she has "done all her life", I told her that it would not be that way any longer, and reminded her of the famous song by Bob Dylan, "These times they are a changin", there are times when the 11 year difference in our ages shows itself, and this was one because she didn't know the song.

A quick visit to my music download site, (before anyone's panties get bunched, yes, I do pay for it!) and I was playing the song for her, which resulted in her cute little scrunched up face, and a very quiet "you're a brat".

So, in one fell swoop, we have, organization, a music lesson, and a reason for an ass reddening!

Just thought I would share!

Most times I agree with your comments, but lately I have noticed you taking the devil's advocate side of most posts.

This post was light hearted, and meant not to inspire debate, but rather to just have some fun.

It's not always doom and gloom.

Having carolyn do things as I prefer them done does not mean that what she was doing was detrimental. <--------I checked the spelling.

Lighten up, there is enough seriousness in the worlld!

True, but I've noticed a lot of inconsistancies in post's that other's are not noticing so just merely saying it the way it actually is. Not in yours. but in many.

We all do things that we should not do. So I was curious.

How very curious! Last night while my son and his fiance were visiting we were going through the pictures I've saved for years hoping to one day show to his future wife (I AM a sadist, ya know) when a picture of my (at the time very young) son's "Vanilla Ice" days came up. He mentioned how he LOVED hip hop at the time and how I was the one who single handedly burst his appreciation for hip hop bubble (unbeknownst to me at the time).

At the time I just didn't "get" hip hop, I was confused by the propensity to 'sample' previously done music and present it as original work. My son was quite defiant at the time, proclaiming me to be wrong.

So I pulled the original David Bowie album out of my collection and played the song "Under Pressure" for him. I watched as the reality came to this poor 10(ish) year old child, as he struggled to hold onto his respect for "vanilla ice" and how it all melted away as he (somewhat deflatedly) looked at me and said "Mom, you're right - that's a better song."

I had completely forgotten about that until he brought it up last night. Then this morning your post reminded me of it again.

I am STILL taken aback everytime I hear someone say "who is Ringo Starr?" or "who is Led Zeppelin?"

The first time I got on an elevator and heard Purple Haze done in musak I was crest-fallen to think that my peak may soon pass. I got over it, just like my son did.

Ummmm, I'm no lawyer but I THINK you have to take that from the start and not answer ANYTHING in order to invoke that right. Kinda like your right to a speedy trial. You have to never ask for an extension of time in order to keep that right (something to remember if your lawyer has problems meeting his/her deadlines).

My point is that you are NOT one to remain quiet, although I can appreciate the wish to do so at particular times! hahaha

Likewise to the IANAL statement, but I'm reasonably certain you can invoke that right in responce to any question. It's not an all or nothing affair.
