I think everyone should take a look at this.

It hacks down the numbers and really puts things into perspective.

I clicked on the link and it wouldn't work in my IE7.   What does it say?

That really does put things into perspective.  And I do appreciate what I have.

Basically it shrinks the world down to 100 people.
Trick is, they kept the same portions of differences.
Race, religion, wealth, etc.

I suggest getting firefox, you wont regret it.

Very interesting. Snopes.com says that the stats are not right, according to their research. Here's the snopes link:

That was good.
One thing I want to mention.
Donating and participating in charity is good work. But donating and actively working in politics to change the way countries policies create and continue poverty is a powerful course.
Trillions are spent on war and tools of war. Billions are spent on economic warfare by governments and business interests.
The money and effort on charity is a drop in the ocean by comparison.

Attack the roots of poverty through actions at home in the course of your government, and you can eliminate poverty at less cost and misery.

The statistics will change over time.
It's still a good model to encourage us get over being so egocentric and it helps us consider that there are so many others living in worse conditions than we are.
